Learning how to learn

Break skill down in micro skills


Spend twenty hours mastering those in isolation and combination
Learn enough from resources to be able to autocorrect
Remove barriers to practice (internet, TV, etc)
Simplify through analogy.
Focus mode vs diffuse mode (e.g. Dalis keys or Edisons ball bearings)
Practice through spaced repetition the gap (sleep) helps strengthen the patterns
and create new neurons.
Three aspects of Willpower:
Ability to disengage focus from the distraction
Resist temptation to return to distraction by maintaining focus elsewhere
Direct attention onto a future goal which will be more enjoyable than the
instant gratification.
