Key Responsibilities (Plant In-Service Inspection):


Witnessed Hydro testing & Leak Tests for Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Pipings
PSVs and PRVs
Review of NDT reports and corrosion analysis (remaining service life calculation based on
corrosion rate)
Identifying & Inspection of special concern area and deterioration (e.g. Dead Legs,
Injection Points, CUI, corrosion and erosion
Internal Inspection of Stationary equipment like Vessels, Tanks, Towers, Columns which
includes observations Cracks, Pits, thinning, corrosion, erosion and other interior
deteriorations
Removal of Old Valves then repair as per requirements, D.P Test, Thickness
measurement records review and re-installation of Valves
Visual Inspection of Crude Column, identifying damaged trays, Chimney trays, removal
and Installation of new trays
Inspection after Cleaning/Chemical Cleaning & list out the repair activities in accordance
with approve procedure and standards
Visual Inspection of Reactor/Reformers removal & loading of Catalyst, and final Box-up
Inspection of Drums, Vessels & column for its Mechanical Integrity, review of all NDT
related activities and final Box-up Inspection

Review the previous history of plant equipment and piping, materials, last inspection
observations, operating temperature, pressure, services changes if any, remaining life.
Average corrosion rate, any change in operation pressure and temperature, etc.
Carried out shutdown inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors,
columns, storage tanks, boilers, spheres, furnaces, heaters etc.
To inspect PSVs and recommend any corrective action based on the observations and
also to witness POP & Leak test at its specified pressure
Evaluating the condition and ensuring the integrity of static equipments (pressure
vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, storage tanks, boilers, spheres, furnaces,
heaters etc.) and piping.
Assist in preparation of Inspection Test Plan to vendors / contractors & carry out stage
wise inspection activities

Perform internal and external inspections to determine if a weldment or equipment


meets the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document.
Conduct inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical
integrity of the fixed equipment of the facility
Pay attention to detail and be capable of recommending repairs as well as performing
visual inspection of completed work
Document and report inspection findings and develop recommendations
Perform inspection tasks and schedule monitoring programs to assure the mechanical
integrity of the equipment
Familiarize themselves with prior history of the vessels they are responsible for,
reviewing the vessels prior inspection results, prior repairs, and current inspection plan
Determine the types of inspection required, e.g. internal, external, on-stream, etc.
Verify that all new materials used during repairs or alterations are consistent with the
specifications
Determine the corrosion rates, remaining life, and next inspection date for each pressure
vessel;
Review and update the inspection and NDE techniques required for each equipment,
including the extent and locations of inspection and NDE
Ensure all NDE results are evaluated and determined to be accepted or rejected, with
recommendations to resolve all deficiencies.
Determine the pressure test requirements for pressure vessels after alterations or major
repairs, i.e., type of test, test medium, test pressure, test gauges, duration, regulatory
requirements and form
Specify any special equipment access requirements, including all safety conditions and
permissions
Be familiar with risk-based inspection (RBI) assessment to determine risk, including a
systematic evaluation of both the probability and consequence of failure in accordance
with API 580
Maintain permanent and progressive records of all pressure vessels and pressure
relieving devices, including adding new information pertinent to the operation,
inspection, and maintenance history of the equipment
Experience in on-stream condition monitoring of plants and QA/QC of all maintenance
activities to ensure safe and reliable operations
Internal, external planned & unplanned inspections on all static equipment/facilities
(columns, drums, Separators, heat exchangers, Pressure vessels, flares, tanks and
piping) and to compiles written reports on its findings and recommendations puts in
repair recommendations to user departments.
Key Responsibilities (Construction Project):
Welding surveillance at site and fabrication shop, Monitor preservation of low hydrogen
electrodes, and baking and holding oven calibration, also monitor (PMI) Positive Material
Identification.
Monitoring step by step the fabrication work-in progress at workshop. Checking and
monitoring of every fit-up and tacking to be weld if follow the proper method of
alignment.
Co-ordinate with contractors to organize fabrication shop requirements, such as easy
access of WPS and PQR.

Carrying out the welding inspection before, during and after welding operation as per
approved Inspection and Test Plan.
Inspection of welded joints and weld preparatory before welding like root gap, hi-lo and
bevel angle.
Inspection of different heating method (PWHT, PRE & POST heating) for welded joints.
Monitoring the baking system for welding consumables and pre heating and inter pass
temperatures of welds.
Ability to analyse the weld and control the parameters for different welding processes.
Ensure all welding equipments and ovens are calibrated and are in good working
condition.
Identification of defects in welded joints and ensuring welds and repairs are made
according to established company procedures.
Maintaining of welding visual inspection report.
Monitors welder qualification tests as stipulated by the Company and as required by
regulatory bodies.
To study the isometric drawing received from the clients and to identify the pipe lines
and carry out the inspection work.
Check flow direction arrows on valves; verify that they are properly identified and valves
are installed in accordance with flow direction.
Ensure that pipe supports, hangers and guides have been installed in accordance with
the piping drawings and the pipe support details.
Inspect piping just before erection to verify that interior is clear of foreign materials
check edge preparation and fit-ups to verify that areas to be welded are free of
contaminants and that fit-up is within tolerance.
Monitoring the QA/QC Documentation of the subcontractors and ensure that all the
activities are incorporated to their system on daily basis and can be traced according to
our requirements.
Line check to verify the use of correct material fittings, valves, and supports, prior to
hydro test and prepare punch list for incomplete works, check and closing after the work
is done.
Supervise and witness the entire Hydro Testing Activities. Piping line check, punch list
preparation, prior to release for hydro testing. Hydro test package review prior to testing
and submitting to client for approval.
