CO1 Students will develop the ability to understand engineering properties of the materials

and solids and analyze the same to evaluate the stress strain behaviour.
CO2 Students will conduct investigations, interpret and provide conclusions about the
suitability of a material for particular scenario.
CO3 Students will acquire basic knowledge of behavior of various construction materials
under loading.
CO4 Students will develop the ability to evaluate internal forces developed in statically
determinate beams subjected to external loading.
CO5 Students will be able to differentiate between behaviors of flexural members in
bending and shear and evaluate bending and shear stresses.
CO6 Students will be able to differentiate between stresses and principle stresses, locate
principle plane and evaluate magnitudes of principle stresses.
CO7 Students will be able to differentiate between direct and bending stresses and evaluate
corresponding stress with nature.
CO8 Students will acquire basic knowledge of theory of torsion and its applications to
Civil Engineering.
CO9 Students will develop the ability to evaluate loads on columns using Eulers and
Rankiness theories and differentiate between behavior of columns under different support
conditions.
CO10 Students will acquire basic knowledge about behavior of thin cylinders and spherical
shells under internal pressure.
