Parquet Flooring Looks similar to woodblocks. The reference is that
these are shorter, wider and thicker. The typical size is 250 x 50 x
6mm. These may have a dovetailed recess worked along the lower
edges into which the adhesive is squeezed when laying, to improve
the bond to the floor. Laying pattern could either be herringbone or
basket weave. Windsor pattern may also be there.

Wood Mosaic Flooring These also look similar to Wood Block Flooring,
yet mosaics are very small. The sizes are 115 x 25 & the thickness is
10mm. These are arranged in Herringbone or Basket Weave pattern
and are mounted on aluminum foil to form panels of 450 x 450mm.
These are bonded to concrete or timber floors using adhesives.

This is available as
Plain Linoleum - Uniformly colored material
Printed Linoleum - Pattern applied surface
Decorated Linoleum - This has marbled granite effects.
Inlaid Linoleum - Patterned flooring of separate areas of linoleum
Cork Carpet - This has cork granules Standard size of a roll is 1.88m x
28m.
The thickness varies from 2mm to 6mm.

Rubber Flooring
Both natural rubber and synthetic rubber flooring is available. The sizes
are 900mm wide rolls of 30m. The thickness varies from 3.5mm to
6mm. This has a sponge rubber backing and provides resistance to
airborne or impacts sound when laid on a concrete floor.

Sheet Vinyl Flooring
This is a very durable type of flooring, and resistant to acids, alkalis,
grease, solvents, fire electricity etc. This also is completely impervious.
This comes in 960, 1350 or 1800mm wide rolls of 11 - 28m lengths.
Sheets can be welded together either by being butted and heated or by
running a welding strip or the same materiel into a small gap left
between sheets.
03. Tile Flooring
Available types of tiles are thermoplastic, vinyl, asbestos, cork, clay, concrete and
terrazzo.
Thermoplastics are available in tile sizes of 300 x 300mm & 250 x 250mm. Vinyl asbestos
tiles are available in tile sizes of 300 x 300mm & 225 x 225mm.
Clay Tiles:
Available Types are,
i. Quarry Tiles
ii. Vitrified or semi-vitrified
iii. Ceramics
Quarry Tiles are coarser & heavier (250 x 250 & 300 x 300mm). Vitrified & semi-vitrified
tiles are made from more refined materials and are available in many different sizes.
Ceramic Tiles are made out of highly refined materials.
Tiles are bonded to floor using cement-sand mortar or cement based adhesives. After
laying the joints between tiles must be grouted.

Horizontal Windows These are common in modern houses.

With these total privacy is impossible. Treat them as cash or casement window.
Horizontal Pivots Fix the curtains to the pivoting window on rods or
expending wire, so that the curtain too opens with the
window.

A pair of windows meets at the corner leaving minimum space in between.

Treat as casement windows if the sides are not glazed. Tracks or blind fittings should be
fitted inside the frame. Nets or sheers could be mounted or double track with curtains. If
sides are glazed leave the window bare.
