PREFACE

The Industrial Training for this time has been done at Lazuli Sendirian Berhad. The
company activity involve in imports and distributes livestock, veterinary
pharmaceuticals animal nutritional and care products, equipment and fencing. On
top of that, Lazuli Sendirian Berhad also provides consultancy services for
the ruminant sector for the local farmer.
The content of this report describe the structure organization of the company,
institution background , the main activity of company, training summary for total
period of 10 weeks and also type of training and assignments indicate to student. In
this report, all information which related to the company and training type will also
be include as long as not confidential.
I would like to show my utmost gratitude to Lazuli Sendirian Berhad which willingly
accept me as one of the practical student at their company. Thanks to all the staff at
the company that willingly to teach and guide us during the internship. Also, special
thanks go to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Faculty of Engineering, especially
Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and Dr Dayana for willingly
spend her time to come visiting us.
INTRODUCTION
Industrial training is one of the compulsory subject that need to be taken by student
in any course in the university. Each students will attend the training session for 10
weeks at the company. Through this training, the student will be expose to the real
working situation which is related to engineering field. This training will required the
students to adapt to their working area and through this exposure, students will
have better understanding on the overall engineering practices and manage to
solve the problem using the knowledge that have been gain.
During the internship, the students are required to complete the log book which act
as their personal diary that will record all the activities that had been done every
day at the company. After completing the training, students need to prepare a
report that must be submitted to the university so that all the students
achievement and experience during training can be evaluate properly. This report
also allows the attained experience to be delivered to the public. Quality and neat
report represents an organized, accurate and captivating training experience.

1. To expose the student to real working condition and gain experience through the
training.
2. To improve the students in term of skills and management in the company.
3. To encourage students applied their engineering knowledge to solve the fundamental
problem.

COMPANY BACKGROUND
HISTORY
Lazuli Sdn Bhd (Lazuli) is a private limited company, incorporated on 29th
September 1979. In early 80s',
Lazuli pioneered the Malaysian livestock industry. As
the first company formed specifically to supply and service the ruminant sector of the
livestock industry, the incorporation of Lazuli was to be
a landmark achievement for the agricultural sector in Malaysia. Today Lazuli remains a
major player in Malaysian market.
Lazuli and its group of companies are now focused in providing end-to-end livestock
related solutions to our clients specializing in supplying of products and services,
consultancy, Project Management, and outsourcing. The Group is proud to have members
who have an accumulated experiences in various aspects of the livestock industry.

experience in various specialized fields of the services we provide through personalized
consultancy.

From its wholesale outlet in Selangor and it's 1,000-acre livestock station in Johor, the
company imports and distributes livestock, veterinary pharmaceuticals animal nutritional
and care products. The company also provide numerous equipment in ruminant sector such
as vacuum pump, pasteurizer, chopper machine and also fencing as well. Lazuli Sdn Bhd
also plays major rule as providing consultancy services for the ruminant sector in Malaysia.
The company and its founder have received numerous awards and certificates for
contribution to the ruminant livestock industry in the country and have played major roles in
the development of the industry to where it is today.
Lazuli Sdn Bhd has become trusted business partner for livestock solution over 20
companies and institution such as Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar (JPV) Shah Alam, JPV
Putrajaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and so on.

Activities
Animal Feeds
Lazuli is the exclusive distributor of Rockies
Mineralized Salt Licks, a mineral blocks containing salt, minerals and trace elements that are
essential to livestock diets.
Equipment for livestock and farming
Lazuli supplies all type of equipment needed in running and operating a livestock farm for
e.g. PEL and PATRIOT electric fencing systems, Tru- test Platform Weighing scale, Leader
Products Livestock ID (Ear-Tag ID), Mat-T-Chop (Locally developed heavy duty chopper) and
Portable Milking Machines.
Livestock health care products
The products include medications and supplements for optimised livestock productivity for
e.g. grass and other feeds, minerals and vitamins in the form of licks or powder and regular
de-worming. Lazuli in-house veterinarian experts are available for advice on prescriptions.
Mobile equipment for integration
Supply of mobile equipment includes mobile cattle yard which is flexible, efficient, low cost
and easy to install.
Consultancy & advisory services
Lazuli has over 30 years of experience and expertise capable of providing services in all
aspects of farming business right from identification of farm location to livestock sourcing
and farm management.

Farm design and construction

Lazuli is the perfect partner to consult in farm design and construction. Its own consolidated
1000 acre farm in Johor is a testimony of its experience in the construction of modern
farming and technology.
Training for integration, intensive feedlotting and greenlotting
Training services on farm management i.e. plantation, farm and production operations,
livestocks health care management, livestock and livestock products trading, slaughtering,
de-boning, packaging and quality control.
Ladang Alifah farm deploys modern feed technology and comprises of feedlots, abattoir,
veterinary services and livestock.
It is able to support up to 10,000 cattle at any one time including 6000 head of cattle for
fattening purposes.
The feedlot uses the most advanced feed mixing technology capable of delivering 5 tonnes
of feed mix every 30 minutes.
Supply of livestock for integration
Lazuli has imported more than 70,000 heads worth over RM120 millions of beef and dairy
cattle, buffaloes, goats, rams, camels and horses including breeders, both for fattening and
breeding purposes since 1982. Today Lazuli is the largest importer of Australian beef cattle,
goats and sheep and remains a major player in the Malaysian ruminant sector.
