Session Plan
Objectives:

1. Conceptual understanding of GIS and Spatial and Non-spatial data base


2. To develop ability to perform basic operations on spatial and non-spatial
data using Open Source software
1. To develop ability to interpret field data, statistical data, different types of
digital and analog maps, aerial photographs and satellite images for
particular application purpose
2. To develop ability to handle vector and raster data
3. To prepare digital maps
4. To understand DBMS for GIS
5. To perform spatial and non-spatial analysis and data modeling in GIS
6. To understand solar electromagnetic spectrum for satellite image
interpretation
7. To apply geoinformatics for various civil engineering applications
