The process of breast feeding is done through lactation . So that errors in the
administration of lactation will affect breastfeeding to infants . Governance lactation
wrong will cause pain in the breast , nipple blisters , decreased milk production , and
babies suck harder because the position error . The purpose of this study was to
determine the factors associated with lactation mothers with babies 0-6 months in the
region of Buton Pasarwajo health centers in 2013 .
This research is a cross sectional analytic approach . The population in this study
were all breastfeeding mothers with babies 0-6 months , amounting to 142 people .
The sample in this study amounted to 59 people with decision- proportional random
sampling technique . This study was conducted on October 3 through October 24 in
the region of Pasarwajo clinic.
Test results of the bivariate analysis using chi - square test p = 0.000 values obtained
for breastfeeding techniques , p = 0.038 for the treatment of breast , p = 0.001 for the
frequency and duration of breastfeeding , and p = 0.004 for the intake of food . In the
bivariate analysis probability values of each variable < = 0.05 . Which means that
there is a significant association between breastfeeding techniques , breast care ,
frequency and duration of breastfeeding , and food intake with lactation mothers with
babies 0-6 months in the region of Buton Pasarwajo health centers in 2013 . The most
pertinent factor of all the independent variables are feeding techniques with wald
value = 9 , 529 and p = 0.002 . Health workers should conduct health education to
pregnant women or new mothers about breastfeeding correct procedures .
