Waxworks can be traced way back on the 15th century and is still noticeably well
practiced during present times. Within these periods, the use of wax modelling has
varied from one thing to another. During the Middle Ages, the practice of wax
modelling was used for superstitious beliefs, witchcraft and the likes. It was on
Renaissance period when wax modelling took a high importance as a form of art
when most portrait figures and religious and mythological scenes in colored wax
pioneered. Today waxworks became totally popular since it usually consist of
images of historical or notorious personages in which sometimes mechanism is
fitted to give motion to the figures. Waxworks are frequently made and presented
by contemporary artists who take advantage of its lifelike and uncanny qualities.
Sculpture is a form of visual art. This implies that the appreciation of this type of
art would be based mostly on what the eyes could perceive.
This is one of the example of waxwork sculpture,

One thing certain is the realistic qualities of the artwork which exemplifies
the beauty and form of a human body. I think it is safe to say that the genre of the
subject matter of the artist includes frankness in the treatment of the human body,
nudity and sensual subjects. The artist had put effort in elaborating the very details
of a humans physique which makes me consider the artistic representation of the
artwork. However, there are specific information that are lacking or not given - like
the title of the waxwork or the name of the artist himself/herself responsible for
such a fine art - which could be considered in understanding the artwork. I believe
these have an effect on the opinion of a person by providing additional knowledge
in the work. The waxwork could broadly mean a lot of things and it would have
been clearer and narrowed down if only the idea and intention of the artist were
revealed.
Due to the realistic form of the artwork, Ive sensed an essential element
that captures a viewers interest. First of all it epitomizes the natural emotion,
mood, reflexes and state of a human body in distinguished circumstances that with
just an observation on the sculpture, youll be drawn to what it represents. Take for
example the picture of a waxwork above. Looking at the sculpture, I feel the
heaviness of the breathing it portrays as it plunges into a deep sleep maybe from
fatigue or stress that can be inferred in the lines and frowns shown on its face. Its
sharp resemblance to a real sleeping man is truly exemplary because the artist
succeeded in capturing the scenario in a most striking way by bringing life to the
waxwork itself.
Representationality is clearly present in the practice of this artwork and has
an important role in it. Although it is not really a sufficient condition for art, it still
has power to engage the viewers attention and emotions as it makes them think
of the artwork as if it were real.
Another factor that adds to the realistic effect of the waxwork was the use of
a three dimensional medium.
Although the artists reason for this art was not disclosed, as a product of art
it conveys a message that nonetheless invites a focus of thought. And this is my
line of thinking for this particular art.

One can also behold the beauty of this performing arts in its relevance to the
society. Performing arts not only benefits the artist by the freedom of expression it
also disciplines the members or dancers into a well-rounded people. It was shown
in the example video clip, the rigorous training a dancer would undergo in
achieving such a master piece. And yet even under pressure they still manage to
enjoy their experience; a very optimistic outlook in life leads to a better one. This is
a good model in honing the young minds.

The artists skill in painting this scene of nature with so much vibrancy that the
sense of life is clearly envisaged, is very commendable. I am able to deduce from this
painting a link between man and humanity as it portrays a symbolic figure for life.
Nature is very connected to man as man is also considered one with nature. As art,
according to Tolstoy, is not only transmission of feelings and emotion like a man
causing another man to yawn when he himself cannot help yawning, it is also a part of
something greater which emphasizes the whole of humanity. By the means of colors,
gradients, strokes, patterns and forms formed the communication of intention
attached to the artwork was a success. The communicative success and arrangement
of artistic materials contributed to the cause that made this painting draw so much
attention.

The Kiss
Gustav Klimt
A perfect square, the canvas depicts a couple embracing, their bodies entwined
in elaborate robes decorated in a style influenced by both linear constructs of the
contemporary Art Nouveau style and the organic forms of the earlier Arts and Crafts
movement. The work is composed of conventional oil paint with applied layers of gold
leaf, an aspect that gives it its strikingly modern, yet evocative appearance.
Human beings find various visual appearances to be deeply absorbing. That is
why when encountering something of beauty it is in our inherent instinct to want to
experience it more or continue experiencing it. The things that attract us are given
artistic merit as we consider it having distinguished meaning from its beauty.

In the painting I see a tender affection depicted from the tight embrace of the
man to the woman. The woman here is not only the object of desire of the man but
also, I believe, is the protagonist as her face was the one distinctively illustrated. Their
intimacy was exemplified by the overall geometrical form of their bodies. The pattern
shows that their surrounding dissolves as they became too engrossed with their affair.
And the touch of gold adds to the splendor of their romance and illuminates the whole
manuscript.
The painting expressed the stage of human relationship where the parties
involved are first drawn to the beauty of the bodies. A physical wanting which is
present in all level of affection. The artist has successfully entranced the audience
attention with the view that deepens the products intentional meaning. It contains the
representational beauty of romantic relationship.
