NUST ENTRANCE TEST (NET)-2013 NOTICE

The new system of UG admissions at NUST is being implemented in the year 2013. The salient features of the new
system are given below:
The process of entrance test is delinked from admission process.
During an admission cycle, candidates can appear in entrance test more than once to improve their score, and
applyfor admission separately on the basis of best score when applications are invited tentatively in April-May.
Computer based entrancetests for all disciplines will be held in multiple sessions at NUST Campus Islamabad
according to the following schedule:

First Session (NET 1) - April

Paper based entrance test will be conducted in Karachi and Quetta only once in July.
Candidates who have cleared FSc (Part-I) or O level exam with minimum 60 % marks (or equivalent) are

Processing fee for entrance test and admission will be charged separately according to following structure:

Entrance Test Fee - Rs. 2000/- per exam

Admission Processing Fee (per programme):

Candidates applying on the basis of NET - Rs.1000/-

SAT National - Rs.3000/- or USD 35

SAT International - Rs.6000/- or USD 70

The result of NET will remain valid for the current admission cycle only which will culminate in Fall 2013.

Refund Policy

Admission processing fee is not refundable under any circumstances. If the student withdraws within 15
days from the commencement of semester,100% tuition fee will be refunded. If the student withdraws after
15 days up to one month from the commencement of semester 50% of the semester fee will be refunded. If

Instructions For Online Application Form
(Engineering/Computer Science)
Visit www.ugadmission.nust.edu.pk (site is accessible at time of admissions only) and register with
valid e-mail address.
Candidate will be allotted a password to access the online application form.
Upload recent photograph (with plain background).
Candidates can apply for admission to all undergraduate programmes on the basis of NUST
Entrance Test or SAT Score or both, according to eligibility criteria.
Candidates applying on SAT basis have to enter their SAT Subject Test scores at link available on
My Account page after submission of application form. Those who do not enter their SAT scores by 15
July 2012 will be assigned zero weighting.
Candidates can deposit the fee either through credit card or make deposit, in any branch of HBL or
Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Ltd., after taking printout of the Challan Form.
Candidates of Islamabad centre will have to choose Test Date and Session out of the available
options. Allocation of Test Date and Session will be made on First Come First Served basis.
Candidates of Islamabad centre will be allocated Roll Number, Test Centre, Test Session, Log-in ID
and Password for Computer Based NUST Entrance Test (CBNET).
For test centres of Karachi, Quetta and Multan, candidates will be informed through email regarding
Admit Card containing exact time and centre for Entrance Test.

Candidates are required to print their Admit Cards and bring the same to the Test Centre along with
original CNIC or a document with Photo ID such as Passport, original Matric/FSc certificate bearing
photograph, etc.
Candidates can change their preferences after the announcement of NUST Entrance Test
results/merit positions during the given time. No application for change of preferences will be
entertained thereafter. Closing merit of session 2011 for different programmes will be available on the
website for guidance.
Admit Cards will be retained at the Test Centre for further verification.

Note: Misrepresentation of facts or false information will lead to cancellation of


candidature/admission at any stage.
Equivalence Certificate
Candidates submitting A Level, 12 Grade, International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement
certificates are also required to submit equivalence certificates, obtained from the Inter Board
Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Pakistan within two weeks after joining the respective programme.

Following are the BS Engineering programs which are offered at PIEAS.

There are two methods for submitting forms for Admissions in PIEAS Online and by Post. The
instructions for both methods are given below:

Instructions for Online Form Submission


1. Scan your recent passport size colour photograph taken at a photo studio at 300 dpi. Your
application will be rejected if the uploaded photograph does not meet the following requirements:

Your full face must be clearly visible.

Background must be plain white or off-white. (plain blue is acceptable)

The photograph must be scanned clearly and must not be blurry or pixelated.

Uploaded photograph must be in JPEG (.jpg) file format.

Size of the uploaded file must be less than 500 KB (Kilobytes).

Uploaded photograph dimensions should be around 500 x 400 pixels.

Scan the same photograph that you will be sending along with Original Challan Form (and
other documents)

Fill your information carefully and proof read it before submitting your Online Application.

3. Make sure that the Picture uploaded by you is a scanned Passport Size Picture taken at a photo studio and your face is clearly visible in it. If
the uploaded picture does not fulfill the required criteria for printing on Roll Number Slip / Answers Sheet, your application will be rejected.

Click the Submit Button only once, application submission can sometimes take few minutes if you are using a dialup connection, so please
be patient.

5. After application submission, Bank Challan Form will be displayed along with instructions, Print this Challan Form to submit your application
processing fee.

6.

You can deposit application processing fee in any Online Branch of Allied Bank Limited (ABL).

7.

Send Original Challan Form along with a Passport size Colour Photograph and Attested copies of Matric / O-level and FSc or FSc (Part-I) /
A-Level Marks Sheets / Equivalence Certificate to Registrar, PIEAS through Pakistan Post, TCS, OCS or Leopard services at the following
address, before 9 May 2012, along with your recent passport-size colour photograph:Registrar,

Instructions for Printed Application Submission


1. All the entries in the form must be made in block letters or typed and no column should be left
blank.
2. There will be no bank service charges for online submission of processing fee through any branch
of Allied Bank Limited (ABL).

3. Application processing fee must be deposited in the online Account No. 0010002084620041 (Title
of Account: PIEAS-APF), Allied Bank Limited (ABL), Cabinet Division Branch (Code No. 0793),
Islamabad.
4. Preferably apply online; application forms are available at PIEAS website. For online submission,
processing fee is Rs. 750/- only.
5. Application forms may be downloaded from website or can be obtained from Registrar by sending
a self-addressed envelope bearing postage stamp of Rs. 30/-. Processing fee for submission by post
is Rs. 1000/- only.
6. Duly filled form (only in case of submission by post), receipt of bank deposit along with a passport
size photograph and attested copies of Matric / O-level and FSc or FSc (Part-I) / A-level must be
sent to Registrar by post before the deadline May 07, 2012.

Eligibility Criteria
At least 60% marks or equivalent in both Matriculation/O-level and Intermediate/A-level
examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects. Those waiting for their
results may also apply. However, the intermediate/A-level result with at least 60% marks or
equivalent is required at the time of joining the BS program.

Admission on the basis of SAT Results


PIEAS has reserved some seats for admission in BS programs through SAT scores.

All Pakistani nationals of both Matric/F.Sc. or O/A Level streams are eligible to compete on
the basis of SAT score.

Admission shall be based on SAT II result of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics level II)

The SAT score should be at least 2000 or more to be eligible for admission.

Merit list on the basis of SAT score shall be prepared separately for admission in BS
programs.

SAT scores may be sent to Registrar, PIEAS at the latest by 30 June 2012.

Fee Refund Policy


The fee refund policy is as follows:

Complete refund after deduction of admission fee (Rs. 5000/-) if the request for refund is
made before the dead line to deposit dues.

Refund after deduction of 50% of the total dues if the request for refund is made after the
dead line to deposit dues but before the date of joining PIEAS.

No refund after the joining date.
