as what we need, why we need, and when we need. (7) important point is
clarity of ideology. Lastly and most importantly identification of a right
person for the job is (8). What we need is systematic change. Leadership
and commitment make all the (9) in getting things done. There has to be an

Cloze Test Based on The Hindu Editorial

Patriotism is a value that most people (1) without being required to demonstrate it
in visible ways. Unfortunately, a notion has emerged in the country that it ought to
be articulated frequently, demonstrated (2) and (3) in such a manner that it will be

an object lesson to the odd dissenter. Given this, it is hard to understand the
rationale for the Supreme Courts (4) that every cinema hall should play the
national anthem before the (5) of a film. India has given itself an anthem easily
recognized as a (6) and moving rendering of the countrys oneness amidst
diversity. It hardly requires judicial promotion. The singing of the national anthem
on special (7), especially in schools and colleges, is sufficient to help citizens
identify the anthem with something larger than their daily concerns. There are
clear rules on when the anthem should be played. Any (8) of the anthem or any
willful (9) to it is legally prohibited, and those aggrieved by any such incident can
take recourse to the law. Beyond this, in a mature democracy such as India, there
really is no need to make the playing or the singing of the anthem (10) through a
judicial order.

With Rahane batting (1) at the other end, Kohli gradually regained his (2). By the
time Johnson returned for his next spell, the Indian vice-captain had scored his
third century of the tour. He and Rahane were well on their way to post the firstever fourth-wicket double-hundred stand at the historic MCG. Johnson was
welcomed to the crease with three (3) pull shots, each more (4) than the next. It
was Johnson who was (5) now. Two balls later, Kohli did what he had been doing
for the rest of the day. He covered the line of a full delivery and punched the ball
down the ground. Kohli and Rahane ran three. Johnson had (6) over a 100 runs
without a wicket. Suddenly, India lost wickets in a heap. Rahane went followed by
MS Dhoni and R Ashwin. Another collapse seemed (7). Kohli batted on to reach
169, his highest Test score to date. Then, as if it was scripted, he fell to Johnson in
the last over of the day, with Haddin pulling off an acrobatic catch behind the
stumps. The MCG (8). But not so much for Johnsons first wicket of the Indian
innings. Instead, every Indian and Australian around the MCG was on his feet, (9)
and cheering Kohli as he walked (10) like a gladiator whos just won another
battle.
