For the Anticipatory Set I will talk to the students about Thanksgiving and about being Thankful
for what we have in life. What are you Thankful for? What does Thanksgiving really mean?

The instructional strategy/modeling I will inform the students that while I am reading they are to
be listening because I might asks them a question and if they are not listening then they can
not answer questions. After instructing my students about what they are to do during my lesson
I will begin my story.

During guided practice I will be asking students continuous questions about the story. For
instance where did the students go? or What happened after the children got to the turkey
farm? As the story continues I will ask questions based on what is happening in the story and
what are the sequences of events.

For the check for understanding I will ask the students what happened in the story and what
were the sequences of events. I will also ask the students what that thanksgiving is about.

For the independent practice I will have the students write down the sequences of events like a
cartoon strip. Students will write down the beginning, middle, and end of the story along with a
picture.
