n Overview

The WG41F12B Build-in frame is a frame designed to


mount onto coating lines of battery electrode sheets
and other existing production lines. It performs highspeed scanning by using our unique drive mechanism
to precisely measure the quality of high value-added
sheets.
This frame consists of its main body, a linear servo
drive system, a frame processor, and a sensor head
package. It plays a central role in the measurement
function of WEBFREX3ES.

l Minimum scan time of 3 seconds


A proven linear servo drive system using our direct
drive mechanism has been introduced as a new
mechanism. Our mechanism operates the linear servo
drive system at high speed and moves it to a target
position with high accuracy.
The linear servo drive system exercises powerful
thrust by using a magnetic bias method. In addition,
the systems thrust increases at certain intervals when
the system runs at all operational speeds, allowing an
excellent acceleration and deceleration control and
providing the minimum scan time of 3 seconds (*1).

l Accurate coat weight measurement with


synchronous measurement system
Improved communication speed between frames has
enhanced the accuracy of a proven synchronous
measurement system.
The system measures actual coat weight without being
affected by variations of base sheets.

l Dedicated high-performance processor


A dedicated high-performance processor provides highspeed scanning.

l High resolution measurement of 1 mm in


cross-machine direction
This frame performs high resolution measurement even
on faster lines.

l Compact and space-saving


This ultimate space-saving frame can be used for the
measurement in the wet part.

l Sensors according to materials


Beta-ray and X-ray transmission method sensors
are available. Select the desired one according to
requirements, such as sheet materials, coat materials,
and measurement ranges.

n Technical points

- FAST & FLEXIBLE -

FAST - faster measurement Accurately measuring and controlling coat weights of


battery electrode sheets is very important because
the coat weight of the sheets largely influences the
performance and cost of batteries. In addition, coat
weight data are valued in order to trace the quality and
performance of batteries in the inspection process and
after delivery. For this reason, thickness gauge systems
are expected to measure and save coat weight data
per cells. Our new drive mechanism allows the Buildin frame to perform high-speed scanning with the
minimum one-way scan time of 3 seconds (*1).

l FLEXIBLE - installable in restricted spaces -

l Clean environmentally friendly


This frame has clean environmentally friendly
specifications, such as a cable track. The cable track
prevents dust collecting on the sheet surface.

Lines for battery electrode sheets are compact in size,


thereby making it difficult to ensure installation spaces
for conventional frames for thickness gauge systems.
The simplified drive mechanism of the Build-in frame
allows the frame to be placed in space-saving designed
lines for battery electrode sheets.

Stands attached temporarily for shipment (when the frame is shipped in Japan, the stands must be returned after it is
mounted).

Cable for using the servo drive system
*2: The beam length is 1,400 mm and the maximum measurement range of the frame is 800 mm. If the measurement range
is specified from 600 to 800 m, note that the sheet is in the sensor gap even at the RETIRE position or the scan direction
change position. The sample holder cannot be inserted with the sheet remained in the gap.

The frame stroke is 1,000 mm. The beam covers are attached.

Select the length of the dedicated cable for the servo driver.
When Cable Length 5 m is specified, the cable length from the signal cable inlet of the beam to that of the local box is 4 m.
When Cable Length 10 m is specified, the cable length from the signal cable inlet of the beam to that of the local box is
9 m.
If power supply voltage is other than 100 VAC, transformer is installed on the local box. The height of the local box will be
increased by 153 mm.
The terminal blocks for external contact input (non-voltage contact) and for external contact output (relay contact output)
are installed on the Local Box.
Required when the system has no multi-frame synchronous processor and profiles are to be managed on the basis of the
sheet length, and when sheet speed analog signals (4 to 20 mA) are input to the frame processor (FA-M3).
Specify this code when the system has no multi-frame synchronous processor and profiles are to be managed on the basis
of the sheet length, and when sheet speed pulse signals (square wave of 0 to 24 V, 100 Hz or less, and pulse width of 5 ms
or more) are input to the frame processor (FA-M3). Be sure to select the optional code /B for the terminal block.
Mounted on the sensor head (always specify this optional code if you do not have any static discharger).
Select this code when the shutter OPEN/CLOSE indicator is required to be added. The indicator is mounted on a dedicated
box. A dedicated cable with a length of 10 m is supplied.
The sensor case is painted lamp black.
Stands are temporarily attached to this frame for export (discard the stands after mounting the frame). This frame is packed
with the wooden crate and shipped.
The grease gun is delivered together as an accessory. A minimum of one grease gun must be specified for each system.
