Hearing the news, Peacock showed his best by opening his wings proudly in front of the farmer. Surely, he was chosen. He was so proud and bid goodbye to the animals. He felt how they envied him. Not knowing his role in front of the burning fire surrounded by many Indians, Peacock showed his feathers proudly. He was in heaven when everybody admired his color and applauded him. He closed his eyes wanting not to end the night but suddenly he felt the knife cut his throat and blood started to flow from his neck. Dying, he realized he was the offering in the ritual ceremony because of his colorful feathers. How he wished then he was the ugliest animal in the whole world.
