Special Project: Fault identification & Insulating Alternators,
During the loading of alternator after the curtailment, the alternator was tripped due to the differential
current alarm. Inspections were carried out on voltage transformer, current transformer, phase winding,
relay, circuit breakers to identify the fault. After inspections it was found out the alarm has triggered due
to the winding failure.
