Election Day in Wisconsin (2).

There are several ways that a United States citizen can vote, including absentee voting,
early voting, and voting on Election Day. Absentee voting is an option for US citizens who
cannot be at their citys polling place. This includes college students, military personnel, and
overseas citizens. Each US state and territory has a different set of laws for absentee voting,
totalling about 55 different sets of absentee voting laws.
In order to receive an absentee ballot, you must send in a Federal Post Card Application
(FPCA) which simply states that you wish to vote absentee. Otherwise, you can send in a
request to vote absentee in via mail, email, or fax. The form of communication you choose
needs to include your name, permanent city address, mailing address to send the ballot, a copy
of your photo ID, the ballot you are requesting, and your signature. In Wisconsin, you can
request an absentee ballot online at myvote.wi.gov.
Early votingalso known as in-person absentee ballotsis similar to absentee voting
but not exactly the same. Early voting is an option for people who cannot or do not want to vote
on election day. In your city, there will be options for early voting, including locations and times.
When you early vote, you must register either beforehand or the day of. All you must do is show
up at the designated location and time with proof of residence, a photo ID, and possibly your
social security number.
Voting on Election Day is also similar to early voting in the way that you can register the
day of if you register at your voting place or at your municipal clerk's office. Otherwise, you can
register via mail. Each house address is assigned a polling place on election day. You can
figure out where you need to vote. If you live in Wisconsin, you can do so by going to
myvote.wi.gov. Once you are at your polling place and registered, all you will need is a state
issued ID and proof of residence.
6. Write an article for the school newsletter about the seminar, its key areas of
learning, and activities that took place in the seminar (3).
In the election seminar, social reasoning advisor, Chad Welty, led a small group of
students in many discussions about the election process and briefly on what was happening in
the current elections. The students learned all about the processes of becoming elected,
including the campaign and the technical details of how voting works and ballots are counted.
The students learned about the process of becoming a candidate for process through a
series of worksheets and discussions. In order to learn about the technical details of voting and
ballots, the students in the seminar took a field trip to city hall where they met the city clerk who
explained the steps of voting and how it all works.
Each student was given a variety of options to show their knowledge. The options
consisted of many assignments, each with a different variety of points. The students must
complete a variety of assignments that will equal to 15 points. Some of the assignments
included, locating your polling place, listing five people who planned on voting, creating a poster
to encourage people to vote, and many more. The most favored assignment of the seminar was
to play Win the Whitehouse, a game on icivics.org that allowed each student to actually run to
be the republican or democrative candidate for the presidental election.

Each student that completed their final to the social reasoning advisors satisfaction
earned either a proficient or expertdepending on how many points they earnedin the
required target, political participation.

7. Create a poster for the hall that reminds people of the importance of voting (3).

Speak your mind & let your voice be heard

You are the only person who can choose what you think, and you have the
right to say what you think. If you voice what you think, your voice will be
heard; your opinions on important issues will be acknowledged.

Every vote counts

Did you know that in the two elections previous to the 2016 election, data
shows that the votes of people 18-24 years oldyouth votesare the
reason the President Barack Obama won the elections.

Vote to effect change

When you vote, youre asking for a change. You are asking for a
representative who shares the same values as you to change the country
according to your shared values.

Honor our history

When people think of voting, they dont usually think about how it honors
our history. By voting, you are acknowledging the freedom fighters who
fought for our right to vote when others tried to take it away. By voting, you
are showing and supporting the idea of freedom.
