Sometimes characters don't have their weapons and have to attack with whatever is dose at hand. An improvised weapon indudes
any object you can wield in one or two hands, such as broken glass, a table leg, a frying pan, a wagon wheel, or a dead goblin. In
many cases, an improvised weapon is similar to an actual weapon and can be treated as such. For example, a table leg is akin to a
dub. At the DM's option. a character proficient with a weapon can use a similar object as if it were that weapon and use his or her
proficiency bonus..

Personality Traits
Too many to lazily name. See chat record for a general gist :P
Despite his self-made profession, he is somewhat impressionable, easily
impressed and awed by the simplest of magic tricks.
Ideals
Having grown up relying on his brother for food and safety, followed by
protective induction into the Shadow-Monks monastery, Saliem hopes to one
day become wholy independent that he need no longer rely on anyone but
his own skills to survive in this world. Venturing out into the big world is the
first step of many to him.
In order to continue this ideal, Saliem sees it fit to regularly train and practice
his martial skills and practices stealth whenever given the chance
Despite his fondness for the hobby, Saliem seldom if not never likes to steal
from those as poverty stricken as he and his brother had once been/are. This
is not only due to them never likely to have any objects of value worth
pinching but more so down to his empathy and understanding of how
valuable even the smallest of fortunes and possesions can be to those that
have virtually nothing.
Should he ever feel the need to select a less well-off person as his target for
petty thefts, Saliem always makes sure to leave his victims with whatever he
may perceive to be a fair trade in exchange.
Bonds
Idolizes his older brother who worked to keep him fed while living on the
streets. Though they are separated, Saliem retains fond memories and hopes
to impress his brother with his well trained skills in stealth and martial
prowess when they next meet.
The monks: Although he resented their disciplanery methods to keep him
with the monastery, thwarting his many attempts of sneaking and thieving
for fun, Saliem did come to respect his various masters and acolytes even if
he seldom expressed it openly. Though this respect was not enough to deter
him from leaving the monastery and isles, a part of him hopes to return and
meet again on good terms.
Souvenier collection: A small collection of pocket sized trinkets and mostly
mundane items. Saliem holds a collection of pilfered souvenirs that each
represent either a town or location hes visited/lived in or in personal cases,
remind him of special persons hes met. As such, his collection feature his
borrowed item from his brother and one of the shadow-monks *insert item
name here* worn as a pendant around his neck.
Flaws
None cus hes perfection personified! (Just kidding. Gotta work on this ^_^ )
His non-commitment to study makes his intellect slightly lower than average,
requiring him to learn a lot of his lessons the hard way via trial and error.
Kleptomaniac: Growing up as an accomplice food-thief for his older brother,
Saliem developed an early liking to the thrill of thieving and collecting various
and unusual trinkets. As such his urge to swipe anything shiny, interesting or
fun is often hard to ignore.
Chat-Log Bio:
So, we'll pick up on the character's stories in a small border town in the
Barony of Bedegar, just north of the river of the human empire. Some
distance from Turenze.
Why are you in the borderlands?
hmm... well assuming I have my Cartography right in thinking that the Catfolk
can hail from teh Misty Isles, I'd say his reason for being there is for the
excitement
Clinton Good
The thrill of living day to day in a near lawless barony :P
Alex Foster
Exactly. The people of the Misty isles are just too peaceful there's barely any
need for the Mistguard what with all them Born-folk watching over
maintaining the ballance and whatever
Clinton Good
You ever interact much with the Mistguard?
Alex Foster
Mostly did in my younger years when my thieving antics became a nusciance
and I got caught too often
Clinton Good
Eep :P
what sort of punishment was there for a thief like you?
Alex Foster
I was a minor and I guess too undisiplined to have known any better.
Clinton Good
Aah, lenient laws towards minors?
Alex Foster
So I was sent to train under my monk mentors in hopes of teaching me some
discipline : d
It's not uncomon for kids to behave badly.
I was just exceptionally good at it that I got extra treatment
*puffs chest proudly*
Clinton Good
Hahaha! Who sent you? The mistguard? :P and which order do you belong to?
Or did you belong to? ;)
Alex Foster
//Order?
Clinton Good
Sorry! Monastic Order :)
like which monks did they send you too?
Alex Foster
Ah, that would be (assuming I'm understanding this right)) the Monks of
shadow. Basically the group of geezers and cool masters that probably wrote
and learned every stealth trick in the book
Clinton Good
Oh awesome!
Alex Foster
I swear some of them could probably transform into the mists and catch me
whenever I tried sneaking out. So spooky!
Clinton Good
3 spoopy 5 me! What alignment would you say this order was? Were they
benevolent towards others? or did they use their powers selfishly?
Alex Foster
It was a bit of a mixed bag I guess depending on which master you talked to.
Some tried to be kinda nice while others like jerk-face dusty-brow was super
strict and lawful >_>
Clinton Good
I hate that dusty-brow bastard
So did you leave the order? Or are you still a student, albeit at large in the
world :P
Alex Foster
He's a jerk that takes himself way too seriously
Really the way of the shaddow monk was to be prepared to do what you must
or something. So neutral at heart
Well kinda, sorta....
I mean I haven't totally quit, I learned a lot and grew to like them, hell even
that jerk-dusty brow can be okay when he pulls that kunai out of his- *ahem*
Clinton Good
anus
*ahem*
sorry
