Duration: 3½ days  (Inclusive of ½ day 50-Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based examination)
 
Course comprises of 1-day E-learning or 1-day of BCM-240 instructor-led training course.  This is followed by
4 half-day instructor-led sessions conducted over an elapse time period of 2 to 3 months. It is useful for organization
to develop its BC plan or review its current BC plans using the BCM Planning Methodology.This intermediate course
enables the participants to use the e-learning modules or classroom instructor-led training to prepare themselves for
the fundamental in business continuity management. This is followed by a 2-day or 4 half-day intensive instructor-led
class room sessions. The e-learning modules are designed and categorized into self-paced learning modules for the
participants to establish a basic understanding of the SS540 Singapore BCM Standard, the BCM framework, policies,
guidelines, the BC planning methodology and the other national standards and best practices. The e-learning modules
will complement the instructor-led modules.  It is optional that the E-learning module be converted to a one day course
if it is conducted in-house.

The 2-day or 4 half-day instructor-led modules will focus on reinforcing the fundamental theories and concepts
established through the 1-day BCM-240 course. Instructors will discuss and demonstrate or relate these concepts
to real life practices. The instructors will describe and explain how these concepts are applied within organizations. 
Participants will be guided on the completion of the necessary documentation which is made complimentary by the
institute.

Course Objectives:
BCM-354 is a “hybrid” course is designed as well-paced course; which will provide participants with essential and key
BCM concept, as well as practical knowledge. After the course, participants will be empowered and be able to:

* Have a better understanding of the SS540 BCM framework, BCM fundamentals, scope and definitions; the
BCM Planning Methodology
* Conduct an effective risk assessments and business impact analysis
* Identify possible threats that may disrupt critical business functions in the organisations
* Identify and evaluate business unit continuity and recovery strategies
* Develop business unit or functional responses, recovery and resumption procedures and processes.
* Identify and conduct analysis of Business requirements to recover critical business function.

* Implement a BCM planning project with alignment to the SS540 Singapore Standards

BCM-5000 is an advanced level Business Continuity Management course with a 150-Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)
based examination, following the successful completion of the course. This workshop is primarily designed for
advanced professionals who have a high degree of exposure to and understanding of BCM, such as BC managers,
planners, and project managers. It is the institute’s most comprehensive BCM course for those who are new to BCM
or intend to embark on this as his/her BCM professional career.  The workshop curriculum will enable participants to
get an extremely thorough understanding of the 7 BCM Body of Knowledge or BCM COK for BCM Practitioners, the
globally recognized methodology for implementation and maintenance of BCM programs. Post the workshop; par-
ticipants should have acquired the skills and understanding to be able to drive complex BCM programmes and BC
projects for the entire organisation. Participants who successfully clear the certification workshop on the morning of
the 5th day will be able to apply for certification as Business Continuity Certified Experts (BCCE).

Participants will acquire the essential skills and knowledge of project management, risk analysis and review, business
impact analysis, recovery strategy, plan development, testing and exercising and program management. BCM-5000
will also introduce the essential steps of developing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, design and
implementation of BC plans, preparing and conducting awareness and training programmes.

BCM Lead Auditor

Duration: 5 days (inclusive of half-day exam on the last day)



BCM-8040 is an advanced level Business Continuity Management (BCM) Audit course with a 150-Multipled Choice
Question (MCQ) based examination, following the successful completion of the course. This workshop is primarily
designed for senior BCM professionals with audit responsibilities, system auditors and /or lead auditors to conduct
audit assessments based on the SS540:2008 Business Continuity Management Standard. As a qualified BCM
Auditor or Lead Auditor, he or she is to decide on behalf of the clients on the compliance and effectiveness of the
audited organisation’s business continuity management system in meeting SS540:2008 requirements.
 
Participants who successfully attended the workshop and successfully completed the certification examination (with a
75% passing score) on the morning of the 5th day will be able to apply for certification as Business Continuity Certified
Lead Auditor (BCCLA).
 
Course Objectives:
This course will provide participants with the concept and knowledge to:

* Have good understanding of the SS540:2008 Business Continuity Management Standard and

BCM Institute’s BCM-840 Audit course provides the Internal Audit framework that enables companies to develop and
enhance their audit capabilities to help meet this business requirement. This is primarily achieved by equipping of
internal auditors and Organization BCM Coordinators with the requisite skills, tools & knowledge to plan control and
eventually lead BCM-related audits in accordance with the requirements of Singapore’s National BCM
Standard - SS 540:2008.

The course also highlights the principles and practices of internal audit for a business continuity management system
and guides students through the entire audit process of people, policies, processes and infrastructure, from managing
an audit program, controlling audit activities to reporting audit results.

Course Objectives:
The 3 1/2-day course would cover the following topics, where participants will master:

* An in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of Business Continuity Management


* Interpretation and understand the framework of the Singapore Standard SS540:2008
* Understand the function and purpose of SS540:2008, and the BCM values & standards required of the
company and its executives.

Implementing and Managing
IT DRP

Duration: 4 ½ days (inclusive of ½ day exam on the last day).  

This course is intended for experienced IT disaster recovery (DR) planners. All aspects of IT DR planning will be
discussed.Participants will review the Business Continuity (BC) & DR Planning (DRP) Model and all aspects of
creating the DR plan and managing the planning process. In addition, the course includes sections on exercising and
maintaining the DR plan.

Course Key Objectives:


Upon completion of the course, the participant will:

* Have a thorough understanding of the BCM and DR Planning Methodology and the plan development and
maintenance process
* Understand IT DRP Life Cycle Program Management
* Develop DR Plans; initial implementation and notification, design and planning, disaster declaration and
escalation, recovery and resumption strategies, maintenance, execution and normalisation.
* Develop , define and implement IT DRP Policies
* Be familiar with the proven method of developing DR plans including preparation and documentation of IT
DR plans

complete the DRCE exam. Once they have acquired the necessary experience, they can proceed to upgrade to DRCE without re-taking
