Celebrating 16 Years of Service to “Our
Athletes, Our Ambassadors.”

Message From Team

Irwine Clare Snr.

My friends and fellow Well Wishers of Sport;

Usain Bolt – World’s fastest Man Veronica Campbell Brown –
Team Jamaica Bickle takes this time to thank all Olympic Gold medalist
those who have contributed in one way or another in
making our 16 years of service to our “Athletes, Our
Ambassadors,” a successful endeavor. This journey
which began from humble beginnings with a mission
to level the playing field and provide the basic
amenities for our athletes, has grown significantly
over the years. Not only do we support athletes at
the Penn Relays, but also aid many on scholarships
here in the USA, as well as at Jamaican academic
institutions.
One of our highlights in the past two years is our
established support of the Gibson’s Relays in
Kingston, Jamaica. Thus far we have sponsored
teams from USA – namely Team Bickle, who are
currently the meet record holders in 4X400 and
4X800 meters for girls. It is TJB’s hope to promote Sherone Simpson –
more visitors to the Island through sports. Olympic Silver Medalist
T.J.B. extends congratulations to all our athletes
who continue to keep the flag of Jamaica flying high. Melaine Walker – Olympic Gold Yohan Blake – Sensational
We are truly indebted to them and as such it is Medalist Young Athlete
imperative that the community ensures that the
resources are available in order for them to continue
the winning tradition. I implore you to make your T.J.B. @ Work
generous contributions to TJB as this will go a far
way in ensuring our athletes prowess on the world’s
stage.
As a Founding member and CEO, I salute our
sponsors and our volunteers for their unwavering
support and contributions to T.J.B. As we approach
our 20th anniversary, the new paradigm will be to
find new sources of funding as we expand on our
deliverability. The challenge will be a great one, our
team is committed and fit and ready….there is a role
for all.
So thanks in advance Philadelphia Organizing
Committee, the Vincent Hosang Foundation, UJAA , Volunteers @ work
all our corporate sponsors and Team New York.
The race has just begun.

ABOUT Team Jamaica Bickle
The rise of the Jamaican phenom Usain Bolt has catapulted Jamaica’s worldwide recognition as an athletic superpower, but we
must remain cognizant that it took great skill, care, sacrifice and many unsung heroes to build the slingshot and we are still
building. This year Jamaica celebrated 100 years of Boys and Girls High School Champs only the third longest running athletic
meet in the world behind the Olympics and Penn Relays. Any Jamaican athlete will tell you that as a youngster they looked
forward to two events, “Champs” and “Penns”. Usain Bolt, Veronica Campbell, Yohan Blake and other stellar professional
athletes were once teenagers traveling to the U.S. to compete at Penn Relays and as always Team Jamaica Bickle (T.J.B.)
was there to receive them creating a home away from home environment so that they could be set to perform at their best.

Team Jamaica Bickle was launched in 1994 with little resources and a big vision. Lifetime partner Vincent Hosang and his team
have provided thousands of meals to athletes and coaches over 16 years. While helping in the very vital provision of bickle
during the Penn Relays, T.J.B. negotiates hotel accommodations and rates, provide transportation, chiropractors and a venue
for meetings with university coaches among many other services. The umbrella of functions and services continue to broaden,
in 2010 these resources were graciously extended to host teams from Trinidad, Barbados and Guyana. We are excited about
the expansion and proud that other countries have recognized our service to the community and we look forward to a bright
future together.

T.J.B. provides scholarship grants to G.C. Foster College in Jamaica and so far handed over $23,000 based on academics
and need. The Awesome Power Track Club located in Queens is also mainly funded by T.J.B. and aids in the development of
young athletes in the local New York area. Team Jamaica Bickle is dedicated to the development and promotion of Brand
Jamaica; sports being one of the biggest promoters of our island home we look for unique ways to incorporate economic
development through sports. For the past two years T.J.B. has joined forces with the Gibson Relays to bring U.S. teams to
compete at the event in Jamaica.

As part of T.J.B’s mission we bring community businesses in direct contact with their target market thus giving them a unique
opportunity to market their services and goods while helping the athletes. We could not have done all that we do without
corporate sponsorship and help from the community. Please continue to do your part, donate at www.TeamJamaicaBickle.com
or send checks to 159-05 Hillside Ave., Jamaica, New York 11432.
