Miguel ngel Asturias


Miguel Angel Asturias was one of the greatest writers of Guatemala; he was
born in Guatemala City on October nineteenth, 1899.
As a writer he wrote tales, novels, poetry, theater, and for a long time he
worked in a journalism. He won several international rewards, some of which
are: the peace learning Reward (1966). The Literature Nobel Prize (1967).
Miguel Angel Asturias died in Madrid, on June ninth, 1974.

Jos Batres Montufar


Guatemala poet, even though, he was born in San Salvador, his parents lived
in San Salvador where his father has an official charge given by Spaniard
authorities. Jos Batres Montufar was born in 1809. He was captain of
artillery but h also liked to write, and this was the final activity for which he
offered his life. Some of his books are: Tradiciones de Guatemala, El Reloj,
Don Pablo, Las Falsas Apariencias. Some of his poems are: Mara, Yo
Pienso en Ti, San Juan, y el Volcn de Agua. These poems give an idea of
how sensible lyric poet was Jos Batres Montufar in the Castilian language.
Jos Batres Montufar died in 1844.
