This study was conducted to explore the roles of parents and


teachers in addressing bullying in Don Amadeo Perez Sr. Memorial
Central School academic year 2015-2016.
The problems raised in our study are the following: problem
number 1 is the profile of teachers in addressing bullying in terms of

sex, age, number of children, problem number 2 is the profile of


parents in preventing bullying in terms of age, sex, number of children
and educational attainment and problem number 3 is the bullying
prevention programs of bpsarents and teachers association.
The subject of the study are the roles of parents and teachers in
addressing in Don Amadeo Sr. Perez Memorial Central School within the
school year 2015-2016 which comprises ten (10) teachers and fifteen
(15) parents. The respondents of the study are the parents and
teachers.
The data gathering instrument used in this study was the
questionnaire checklist. Frequency were used to answer problem
number 1, average weighted mean in problem number 2 .
The socio-demographic profile of parents and teachers was
summarized as follows: out of 15 parents, 12 or (80.0%) are females
and 3 or (20.0%) are males, out of 10 teachers there are 7 females and
3 males. In terms of the age of the parents, 4 or (26.7%) of them are in
age bracket of 31-35, 2 or (13.3%) are in age bracket of 26-30; 3 or
(20.0%) are at age bracket of 36-40, also 3 or (20.0%) are at age
bracket of 41-45 and 3 or (20.0%) are at age bracket of 46 above.
While in the age of the teachers, , 3 belongs at the age bracket of 2630 which is equivalent to 30%, 1 has the age bracket of 31-35 which is

equivalent which is equivalent to 10%, 2 has the age bracket of 36-40


equivalent to 20%, 3 has the age bracket of 41-45 equivalent to 30%
and 1 has the age bracket of 46 above which is equivalent to 10%.
In terms of the number of children of the parents, 5 or (33.3%)
of them has 1 child and another 5 or (33.3%) for the parents who has 2
children. 2 or (13.3%) of them had a number of children and another 2
or (13.3%) has a 4 number of children and lastly 1 of them or (6.7%)
has a number of children 5 and above. While in the teachers, 3 out of
10 respondents has only 1 child which is equivalent to 30%
respectively, also 3 has 2 children that is equivalent to 30% also, 2 of
them has 3 children which is equivalent to 20%, also 2 has 4 children
which is equivalent to 20% also and there is no teacher who has the
number of children from 5 and above.

In terms of the highest

educational attainment of the parents, majority of them are college


graduate with the frequency of 7 or (46.7%) second is high school
graduate with the frequency of 5 or (33.3%) next and the vocational
graduate with the frequency of 2 or (13.3%) and lastly, only 1 of them
is an elementary graduate. While in the teachers, majority or all of
them are all college graduate. Under the actions of the parents in
preventing bullying was Often as indicated by the overall weighted
mean of 3.72; and under the actions of the teachers in preventing

bullying was also Often as indicated by the overall weighted mean of


4.2.
Based on the findings of the study, the researchers arrived at the
following conclusion: 1) The parent respondents were dominated by
females, majority of them has the age bracket of 31-35, most of them
are farmers an d majority of them has 4 number of children. 2) Parents
and the teachers need to be aware or they should ask their
pupils/children experiencing bullying. (3) There is no significant
differences between the actions of the parents in preventing bullying
and the actions of the teachers in preventing bullying.
Based on the finding and conclusions drawn, the following
recommendations offered: (1) Parents and also teachers should not
encourage their child/children/pupils to fight. (2) Parents should let
their child/children to join bullying prevention activities inside the
school. (3) Parents should be aware on how to report bullying to school
staffs. (4) Parents should know if the rules on the schools are applied to
their child/children in a fair way. (5) Teachers should formulate their
plans to address cases of bullying. (6) Teachers should attend seminars
on addressing. (7) Teachers should share their knowledge to their coteachers on how to address bullying through peer collaboration. (8)
