METHODOLOGY
CCCNs distinctive communicative methodology combines classroom interaction with online practice, known
as Blended Learning.
In the classroom, you will be exposed to a variety of activities to develop your ability to listen, read, write and
speak in English with a strong emphasis on the development of conversational skills. For this reason, you are the
protagonist of your learning process, and your active participation in individual, pair and group work is essential.
Outside the classroom, you will have the opportunity to reinforce and consolidate what you have learned in
class by working on a virtual platform.
Your constant class and online work, state-of-the-art resources and highly qualified teachers will ensure your
success in learning English to connect to the world.
COURSE EVALUATION
You will be required to have a minimum grade of 80 to pass this course. Your evaluation will consist of the

There will be no make-up exams unless you have a highly justifiable and certified excuse for being absent on
those evaluation dates already notified by the teacher. Dates for make-up exams are established based on your
teachers schedule.

My ELT: This is an Online Platform that engages you and supports classroom materials by providing a variety
of interactive activities such as pronunciation and speech recognition, games, and more. My ELT promotes skill
development and provides authentic language models through audio and video from National Geographic
and Ted Talks.
Mi Teacher del Centro: This Facebook page provides you with daily updates that include videos, infographics,
vocabulary explanations and other easy to check posts to keep learning outside class.
Cl@ssroom: This is the CCCNs Online Platform that allows you to access course information and additional
practices anywhere and anytime. It is also an easy way for you to interact with your teacher and with classmates
through messages, chat, blogs, forums and e-walls.
The Mark Twain Library is an information center that specializes in the U.S. culture and society and in the teaching
and learning of the English language, as well as other areas of human knowledge. The library has five locations
(San Pedro, Sabana, Alajuela, Heredia, and Cartago) and more than 18,000 information resources. Active
students at CCCN get free membership to the Mark Twain Library system.
