1. Synthesize - Create a holistic view of what you have learned from the
discussions, you may make a summary or diagram your learning.
2. Evaluate - See the relevant things or ideas you have learned and take
note how it affects your perception in life.
3. Analyze - Observe what is happening around your environment and
compare relevant issues and concerns.
4. Demonstrate back up your analysis with social interview (at this point,
our concern is street people), in the end you may present some concrete
plan or plan of actions to address the perceived problems around.
5. Integrate Create personal projects on how the offered solution can be
feasible to provoke change, writing your final reflection will be relevant at
this point.
Thus, the rubric or grading system of the final output will be based also upon
the elements or criteria presented in SEADI.
The next diagram is a recommendation on how to execute your group field
research project:
Figure B.2. STEPS for Group Dynamics-Process
STEP 1: Start with the group meeting. You may select your leader so that
s/he may have the call to the rest of the members for immediate meeting or
when important concerns arise. Make an agreement of your common timewhen, where and how you will execute your project. Present your time frame
as a group.
STEP 2: Presentation of Individual summary of learning. Discuss in
your group meeting what transpired to you within the semester or what is the
most important thing/s you learned. This may not only be about your
Theological studies, it may include some areas of disciplines. You may
compare similarities of your learning and, from it, begin presenting to the
group the common area of interest (for example: I am interested to know how
God provides for the poor, How do ordinary people or street people express
their faith or what is their understanding of God)- make it as the Theme for
your field research. (see figure B.3)
STEP 3: Start doing your Field research. Every day you do encounter
street people. Be curious again with their situation! Formulate questions that
you keep on asking about them deep inside yourself in times when you saw
them (or is your heart that senseless enough not to recognize their

presence?), and formulate another set of questions that you want to ask to
them during the interviewed. Document (video documentation) the days
activity of that person, daily routine. However, transcend your interest from
the physical activities into heart-disturbing situation- belief, dream, ambition,
aspiration of the person.
STEP 4: Go out. Start searching for people with no settlement outside the
campus. You may probably know someone whom you regular encounter when
you go to school. Begin with that person/s. But take in mind that your SAFETY
is of primary importance. See if the person is approachable enough or willing
to be interviewed, if not, look for another one without compromising the goal
of your research and the safety of every member in the group. Record your
interview. Giving money is highly discourage or inviting them to your house.
YOU MAY GIVE FOOD AND CLOTHING but do it in subtle ways so you may not
get the attention of other people.
STEP 5: Seat Down. Begin discussing with your group mates your reflective
analysis after your interview or encounter with the street person/people. You
may start by providing answers to the questions previously formulated.
Assign some members to edit your video clip which provides the substantial
content (content maybe integrated in the way you want to present your video
documentary):
Title/Theme of the Research
Group Members (Name)
Formulated questions
Person/s interviewed (Data/details)
Group concluding analysis
o What happened before, during and after the research
o What is the important/significant event/thing- encounter
with the street person
o How to feel after the encounter
o Any personal but significant insight
o How was the experience change/transform your life

important things learned within the semester. This will help him/her to see

the important details of every topic and to see every bits of discussion as a
