OVERVIEW
New Equinox is a statement of intent and action. We aim to introduce and
deliver our music, deeply rooted in the great traditions of jazz music, to thrill
and entertain all members of the public audience. As a platform, our mission is
to express our passion and creativity to craft quality musical artworks.
Founded in 2015, New Equinox have rapidly risen to become a mainstay at the
monthly jazz event Bumi Sangkuriang Jazz Night, accompanying Indonesian
jazz luminaries such as Agam Hamzah, Rio Moreno, Johannes Radianto and
Andre Dinuth, and performed at many other jazz events such as Klabjazzs
Jazz Et Alia and Jazzualitys Braga Jazz Walk. We have also participated in
non-jazz events and collaborated with other art forms, such as our joint
performance with Bandung Street Dancers Club at Braga City Walk.
The highlight of our journey so far is our first album, Standards, released on
October 10th 2016. Nevertheless, New Equinox are always earnestly looking
forward to sharing their passion for jazz to the audience and developing unique
touch and creativity in the ever growing Indonesian jazz scene.

PERSONNEL
ALMAN NAUFAL (DRUMS)
A founding member of New Equinox, Alman has
established himself as an exciting young
drummer with a highly energetic personal style.
He is also currently teaching drums at Venche
Music School in Bandung.

EZRA MANUHUTU (BASS)

Hailing from a family of talented musicians,
Ezra has settled for his true calling in the art of
playing bass. He has been keeping the New
Equinoxs rhythm ticking ever since.

JASON LIMANJAYA (PIANO)

After finishing his bachelor degree in Singapore,
Jason finds a platform for his dynamic
musicality in New Equinox. He is also currently
teaching piano at Mezzoforte Music School in
Bandung.

FIRST ALBUM - STANDARDS

Release on October 10th 2016, Standards comprises famous jazz standards that
are easily recognized by the public and jazz aficionado alike. However, each
song is rearranged in a youthful and refreshing way, many of them by the
acclaimed jazz pianist Imam Pras. The album is now available at KlabJazz and
Jazzuality stores.
