Personal Statement and current work


I am a General Practitioner / Family Physician trained in the United Kingdom. I have worked
in the UK for about twelve years (2003-2015) in various specialties (such as Psychiatry,
Gynaecology, Diabetology, Emergency Medicine etc) and in various roles (such as a GP
Principal / Partner, GP Trainer, GP Appraiser etc). I have worked at Deerness Park Medical
Group (urban practice) in Sunderland UK for about nine years as a NHS (UK) General
Practitioner providing full range of primary healthcare including care of children, mens /
womens health, preventive medicine, care of elderly, palliative care, home visits, managing
chronic diseases like Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Heart failure etc. Currently I am on a
sabbatical in Australia and am working in a Private Corporate Clinic as a full time General
Practitioner at Gungahlin Family Healthcare, Canberra, Australia since Jan 2016.
I am passionate about providing high quality evidence based patient centred holistic primary
healthcare and am a strong believer of the principles of lifelong learning. My special interests
include management of complex medical presentations, mental health, chronic diseases,
palliative care, care of elderly, care of children and GP Training.
