A UNIQUE VENUE
The Oceanarium and Offshore Cafe offers a unique evening venue for your exclusive event
from private parties and drink receptions to intimate conferences and wedding receptions, we can
cater for your requirements.
The Oceanarium displays are the perfect ice-breaker, bringing your guests face to face with dazzling
marine life from the amazing waters of the world. Spectacular sharks, curious sea turtle and adorable
otters provide a magnificent backdrop, impossible to replicate elsewhere.
The contemporary beach side Offshore Cafe offers stunning views across the bay. With Bournemouth
Pier and the Dorset coastline to one side and fascinating creatures displayed on the other the Offshore
Cafe is truly one of a kind. The Offshore Cafe is also avaiable for Corporate Breakfast Functions.
The Offshore Cafe and Oceanarium are fully wheelchair accessible.

CAPACITY
The Oceanarium has 10 themed displays across two floors. The Offshore Cafe is 9.5m x 6m (31ft x 20ft).

Maximum capacity for functions is 200 people.

Theatre style or formal seating can be catered for within the Offshore Cafe for up to 60 people.
For functions with over 60 guests, informal seating within the Offshore Cafe can be provided.
The terrace provides outdoor seating for approximately 40 people.

ENTERTAINMENT
The Offshore Cafe has a Public Entertainment Licence and our team will be happy to advise on space
available for live bands, entertainers etc. Alternatively background music can be played in the Offshore Cafe
and we welcome organisers to provide their own selection of CDs or an iPod.
Personal DVDs and image slideshows (popular for surprise birthday and anniversary parties) can be shown on
our 50 plasma TV screen. It is also the ideal platform for screening company promotional video presentations.
Something a little different... Acoustic music can be played in certain areas around the Oceanarium displays
to provide unique entertainment for your guests.
Displays staff can be on hand to answer any questions your guests may have on their underwater journey
through the Oceanarium.

Exclusive hire of the Offshore Cafe and beachfront terrace (weather permitting) during our off peak season
only. Theatre style, formal or relaxed informal seating can be catered for up to 60 people.

Hours of Hire: 7.00am 10:00am

Hire Price: 150 (+VAT)

CATERING
Catering for a minimum of 20 delegates is additionally required from our breakfast menu:

OCEANARIUM & OFFSHORE CAFE PRIVATE HIRE

CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING
We would appreciate as much notice as possible for bookings. The very latest a booking can be made is
30 days prior to the function date, at which point we will assess each request individually to ensure we are
confident of delivering our usual level of quality in the time given.

PAYMENT DETAILS
- All prices quoted exclude VAT
- 100 (+VAT) non-refundable deposit for venue hire on confirmation of booking is required. Bookings must be
secured and deposit paid at least 30 days prior to the event.
- 50% non-refundable deposit of total cost for food and drink required at least 14 days prior to the function
date.
- The outstanding balance can be paid by card, cheque or cash in advance, or on the night of the function.
We can invoice for the outstanding balance after the event but payment must be received within 30 days.

RIGHT TO REFUSE
Due to the nature of our venue we reserve the right to refuse any bookings that may be detrimental to the
welfare of our creatures and displays. We are unable to accommodate 18th and 21st birthday parties.

DAMAGES
Any damages occurred during the private hire as the result of a function guest are the responsibility of
organiser and charges for damages will be made accordingly.
