History
Thesiteismadeupoffouradjoiningstructuresbuiltinstages.[2]Built
in1885,thecentralandoldeststructuresofthecomplexistheformer
StateNormalSchool(latertheWisconsinStateCollegeofMilwaukee
andnowtheUniversityofWisconsinMilwaukee).Thesecondstructure
wasbuiltin1894onthewestsideoftheoriginalstructure.Afterthe
normalschoolwassoldtotheCityofMilwaukeein1909,itwas
convertedtotheMilwaukeeGirls'TradeandTechnicalSchool.The
thirdandfourthstructuresofthecomplexwerebuiltin1918and1932.
Currently,thesiteservesasahomelessshelter.
