Policies

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is English.


Attendance

Collegiate students who incur absences of 20% of the required number of class and laboratory periods or any other scheduled work in a given term, shall be
dropped from the subject. (TSU Student Manual Section 2, page 27)
If for any unavoidable reason a student is absent, a certification from his/her attending physician or parent should be presented to the professor/section adviser
concerned upon the students return. (TSU Student Manual Section 3, page 27)
If majority of the absences are excused, a student shall not be given a grade of 5.0 depending upon his academic standing in the class or classes where absences are
incurred; but majority of the absences are not excused, he/she shall be given a grade of 5.0 upon being dropped. A student who has not been dropped officially
through his/her own fault shall be given a grade of 5.0 (TSU Student Manual Section 5, page 28)

Time lost by late enrollment shall be considered as time lost by absence(TSU Student Manual Section 6, page 28)
A student who is late for not more than 5 minutes may be admitted to class. However, a student who has been tardy for 3 times of 5 or more minutes each shall
be considered as having been absent once. (TSU Student Manual Section 7, page 28)
In cases where instructors/professors are late in class, students should not leave the classroom until the first third fraction of the scheduled class time has passed.
Professors arriving late within the time schedule may mark students absent if they leave their classes earlier than the prescribed time. (TSU Student Manual
Section 8, page 28)
Prolonged leave of absence must be sought by a written petition to the Dean and recorded by the University Registrar. The petition must state the reason for
which the leave is desired and must specify the period of the leave which shall not exceed one (1) academic year. (TSU Student Manual Section 1, page 28)
Withdrawal from the University without formal leave of absence may cause the curtailment of entire withdrawal of the registration. (TSU Student Manual

Assignments, Written Reports and Reaction Papers

Homework/Assigment, written reports and reaction paper should be passed on the scheduled date. Failure to comply on the required date of submission will
incur demerit of 10 marks per day of delay.

Instruction on the format and contents of Course Portfolio is given three weeks before the final examination and should be submitted on or before final
examination.
