Provide a variety of seeds

for the children to choose
fromsunflower, grass,
pumpkin, and radish. Ask each
student to draw a picture
of what they think their seed
might become. Talk about the
parts of the plantroots,
stem, leaves, and so on.

Have students bring

in something from
their home recycling

their seed. Encourage
them to be creative
in their choices.

After planting the seeds

and discussing the importance
of sunlight and water, have
students draw a timeline
beginning with the date on
which they planted their seed.
They can use the timeline
to indicate the first sprout,
rate of growth, number of
sunny days, and more.
