Introduction
This project is about opening a new sports complex at Tapmi in Manipal. Since there
is a lack of availability of a sports complex in our college which can provide students
with different games like squash, swimming, basketball, badminton, tennis courts,
multi-purpose fields and gym facilities. Thus the main intention of this sports
complex is to provide students, faculty, staff and their families with different games
and increase talent in those games. The name selected of the club i.e. Being Young
is because here even the elder people can come, play and feel young.

Proposed Building Program Phasing


The resulting building program incorporates a phased approach to the
development of
the sports complex. Facility components in Phase I and Phase II were
assumed to be
considered immediately for development provided funding is available.
Facility
components recommended as future phase developments such as Phase III
and Phase
IV should be considered only if additional potential users and tenants are
identified and funding is identified. Proposed facility development for the
sports complex is envisioned as follows.

squash courts and twelve table tennis boards

What business problem does the project solve?


1. The students and faculty will not have to enroll to external sports complexes
2. Decrease the dependence on outside sports complexes
3. Increase satisfaction among students and faculty
4. Enhance the fitness level of the users
5. Allow different B school competitions to be held at Tapmi

How does this project align with our organization strategy?


Enhance the overall performance of the students and faculty resulting from their
involvement in sports activities. This, in turn, will help the institute maintaining and
produce a healthy, sporting and confident pool of managers.

What are the major deliverables of the project?


A 200000 square feet state-of-the-arts sports complex containing 4 badminton
courts, 2 basketball courts, 2 Tennis courts, 2 squash courts, 12 table tennis boards,
an indoor synthetic jogging track, multi-purpose field, a well-equipped gym , a
cricket bowling machine and five enclosure for recreation games, a locker room, 40
rest rooms and a food court. All the indoor facilities would be centrally airconditioned. The entrance to the complex will be at ground level '0' and floor plans

will go like plus one level, minus one level, minus two level, minus three level,
minus four level, minus five level and minus six level which will be the parking area.

What is the impact of not doing this project?


If the project is not undertaken, interested students and faculty will have to
continue going to Marena Sports Complex that is 7 kms from the institute. It eats up
the precious time of students as well as faculty and also Tapmi is not able to hold
inter B-school sports tournaments
