Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

CRM Jumpstart Solution

Todays enterprises often struggle with integrating enterprise financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 with
CRM applications due to the complexity of the initiative, the increasing and changing data volumes and the availability of
resources to apply to the initiative. Scribe has responded to this integration challenge by building the Microsoft Dynamics AX
2012 Dynamics CRM Jumpstart solution.
With a design driven by Microsoft Dynamics AX partners and customers, the AX-CRM jumpstart was based on real world
Dynamics AX environments and integration needs. The Jumpstart removes the need for custom code to connect Microsoft
Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics CRM, while preserving the extensibility and depth required to support todays diverse enterprise environments.
Created with Scribes trademark usability, the AX Jumpstart,
allows customers and partners to get a baseline integration up
quickly. The built-in web services allow Dynamics AX customers
and partners to tailor integrations to meet unique needs while
delivering a consistent experience and rapid time to value.
The Web Services Adapter, which facilitates the integration,
allows users to integrate with any data published by Microsoft
Dynamics AX thereby opening up the possibility of
integration of Microsoft Dynamics AX with a host of other
systems in addition to CRM.

The Scribe AX Adapter was specifically

redesigned to take advantage of new
features in Dynamics AX 2012, which
provides us with even greater flexibility
in tailoring solutions to the unique needs
of our ERP customers.
Kathy Killingsworth, Managing Director of ERP, Tribridge

The Jumpstart combines an intuitive user experience with robust integration capabilities. The Scribe solution handles the heavy
lifting so modifications, upgrades and maintenance are not a drain on IT resources.
With the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 CRM Jumpstart solution, Dynamics AX Customers and Partners can:

Synchronize customer and contact information between the two systems

Manage the flow of sales orders and invoices

Update CRM with currency conversion rates from AX

Maintain the product catalog in CRM based on changes in AX

Jumpstart - Technical Information

Scribes Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 CRM Jumpstart includes maps that cover the most common integrations that customers need. The table below shows the entities that can be mapped, the directions of integration supported and the operations
supported in the Jumpstart. The Jumpstart requires the initial synchronization to go from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to
Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Subsequent updates can proceed in either direction so long as the map supports it.

The Jumpstart makes Microsoft Dynamics AX customer entities available and editable as account entities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Likewise, account entities from Microsoft Dynamics CRM will appear as customer entities in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Contacts created in either Microsoft Dynamics AX or Microsoft Dynamics CRM will be available in the other system using the
Jumpstart.
Sales orders created or modified in Microsoft Dynamics AX will be available in a read-only format as orders in Microsoft
Dynamics CRM. The Jumpstart also allows an order created in Microsoft Dynamics CRM to be sent to Microsoft Dynamics
AX when it changes to the submitted state in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, at which point it will become read-only in Microsoft
Dynamics CRM and editable and post-able in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
The Jumpstart can also send a sales invoice created in Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics CRM when it changes to
an invoiced state. The invoice will be read-only in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Currency exchange rate information can be sent from Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics CRM for consistent
pricing across the two systems, and Microsoft Dynamics AX items that do not have variants can be available as products in
Microsoft Dynamics CRM so that end users can create orders in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Address information created and updated in Microsoft Dynamics CRM can be mapped to an address in Microsoft Dynamics
AX, and the Jumpstart also supports mapping new addresses created in Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Finally, each unit of measure in Microsoft Dynamics AX can be mapped to a unit group in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
