Marquette University Diederich College of Communication to host fifth annual Corporate


Communications Summit
MILWAUKEE, Wis.Diederich College of Communication will host its fifth annual Corporation
Communications Summit on April 22, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Marquette Alumni Memorial Union
(AMU) Ballrooms. The summit will include keynotes by Bridget Coffing McDonalds Corporation,
Chief Communications Officer, and Charles Swoboda Cree Chairman and CEO; a variety of
informational presentations; networking opportunities; breakfast; and lunch. The theme for this
years event is, Developing Next-Generation Corporate Communicators.
In the weeks leading up to the event, professionals can follow and interact with the summits official
twitter using the hashtag #MUISS. The summit will begin with a kick-off reception on April 21, 5
p.m. in the AMU Ballrooms.
Including the two keynote speakers, the summit will feature seven current communications
professionals in four different learning sessions. University Trends in Preparing Communications
Professionals presented by Patrice Buzzanell, Ph.D. from Perdue University, Scott Dickmeyer, PH.D.
from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse; and Matt Ragas, Ph.D. from De Paul University.
Session: The Professional Communicator as Pilot presented by Martha Newhart, Vice-President,
Global Communications, Building Efficiency from Johnson Controls. Panel: Conversations Between
Generations of Corporate Communicators presented by Nick Ashooh from APCO Worldwide; Matt
Gorning from MP Gorning Associates, GUW and Robertson Lowstuter; Sara Bres from Northwestern
Mutual; and Taylor Trovillion from Finn Partners. Session: Improvisation: A Survival Skill for
Corporate Communication Professionals presented by Fred Cook, CEO of Golin.

Professionals (Early Bird Special Until March 18th) $165, Marquette Students $25, Non-Marquette
Students $65.
