DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES BASED ON ACTUAL OBSERVATION

Today when I made some observations on the Welding Workshop Ilham
Jaya, I saw the employees arrived at the welding shop at 07.30 am. Then they change
clothes in the locker room in the garage, after that the employees prepare the machine
to be used for their work.
Most of these employees work together to lift a chicken coop that has become
the day before yesterday to be delivered to customers using a pickup truck belonging
to the workshop used to transport the goods that have been completed., while other
employees worked together to prepare a semi-finished fence to resume the process.
After they prepare all are the employees to resume their work to make fence.
There are cut iron cylinder, there is also a drilled plate for connecting between iron
sections with each other. One employee named Mr. Rohmad start connecting with
welded iron.

Once welded then Mr. Rohmad former grind weld welding to remove scars
and to flatten the field. After the completion irons connected, the bottom of the fence
riddled with grinding machine forming a rectangular hole, the purpose is to make a
wheel fence that had been prepared. Once the wheel is inserted into the hole, then
welded to the wheel house so that the wheel is connected to the fence, after that the
former welding grinded to remove the crusts are attached.

While other employees named Mr. Sunarso began to resume his work make
the iron door, the process is almost the same as making a fence before. That stringing
some iron to form a door which is then assembled using electric welding, after the
door frame so then in the middle of the door frame welded some plate which is
roughly the size of about 1x1 / 2 meters.
Once the door is so, then the door is mounted on the door pillar already
finished. Then the engine compressor prepared by Mr. Sunarso to start painting the
door, then the mixture is poured on the black paint tube paint sprayers. When finished
painting, the doors dried in the sun very hot during the day.

In the welding shop is also a child who was on the job training (OJT) to carry
out its obligations as a class XI student of Vocational High School in Mojokerto. He is
there a role as toolman in charge of preparing everything needed employees, he
usually also required employees to buy goods that are not available at the workshop.
HOW TO HAVE TRANSACTION AND PAYMENTS

For transactions, customers are subject to an advance of 50% of the overall

price. For the customer's own payment directly face to face with the owner of the
welding shop. Customers can also negotiate on the price of the service workshop. If
the goods have been completed, the customer's will receive proof of payment and the
customer must pay 50% of the remaining payment. In the welding shop is not using
the method of transfer for payment, so customers should see the shop owner to get
service.

A short history of the Welding Shop Ilham Jaya
This workshop was established in the year 2007. Beginning of the founding of
this workshop because his father never had a welding shop, and Mr. Andik also
worked in his father's workshop when Vocational High School graduate. And after a
long work in the workshop, the workshop was bankruptcy. And that is the reason Mr.
Andik to set up a workshop.
Capitalize borrowing money from the bank around that region, Mr. Andik also set up
a welding shop named "ILHAM JAYA" in 2007. For its own employees Mr. Andik
accommodate long-time employee of his father workshop which is now bankrupt. "I
never thought that this workshop capable of developing into a large garage as it is
today, and hopefully this workshop continues to survive and continue to grow" said
Mr. Andik.
Reqruitment Way
To recruit new employees Mr. Andik nice view of whether or not the
prospective new employee who tested his work for several days, if the employee is
good it will be recruited by Mr.Andik.
Hours of work and how payroll
Welding Shop Ilham Jaya open at 07.30 am and the employee will be resting
at 11:30 am until 01:00 pm, then the workshop will be closed at 05.00 pm. This
workshop is open every day from Monday to Saturday.
How to payroll employees in the garage is done on every week on Saturday
before employees go home. Total remuneration received by employees in the garage
is not fixed, depending on the results obtained in the week.
Electric Welding machine
Electric welding machine is one way to connect the metal with the use of an
electric arc flame which is directed to the metal surfaces to be joined. In the affected
part of the electric arc will melt, as well as electrodes that generate an electric arc will

melt at the edges and vines continue until exhausted.

The molten metal from the electrode and of the partial object to be spliced
mixed and filled the gap of the two metals to be joined, then freezes and connect the
two metals. Electric arc welding machine can be an electric current is quite large but
with a safe voltage (less than 45 volts). Electric arc that occurs will cause heat energy
is high enough so that it will easily melt metal exposed. The amount of electric

In arc welding, the connection occurs by the heat generated by the electric arc
that occurs between the workpiece and the electrode. Electrode or filler metal is
heated until melted and deposited in the joint, causing the weld joint. At first contact
between the electrode and the workpiece resulting in current flow, then by separating
the conductor arose arc. Electrical energy is converted into heat energy in the bow and
the temperature can reach 5500 C.
IMPRESSIONS AND SUGGESIONS
The impression I get from observations in Workshop The workshop Ilham
Jaya is large enough and a lot of electric welding machine there, there are also very
friendly employee once told me. And I got a lot of knowledge of the Workshop Ilham
Jaya.
The message I want to convey to employees Ilham Jaya Station is about the
importance of using safety working that must be considered, because of the lack of
use of safety working is bad for our health, so do not forget to use a mask when
welding, welding gloves during welding, as well as safety equipment other. And
hopefully this workshop continued and growing as expected by Mr. Andik.
