Age

Young children may have a fear of visiting the doctors.


However, it is definitely not something children should
be afraid of. As teachers and parents it is important to
ensure children that doctors are safe, kind and helpful.
Furthermore, yesterday I was reading a book to the
toddlers called Doctor Dora and I will read the story
to the toddlers again tomorrow than bring out the
doctor set.
Dramatic Play
Materials
- Doctor vest
- Stethoscope
- Emergency Kit
- Needle
- Otoscope
- Thermometer
- Clip board
Objectives
- The children will enhance communication in
receptive language as they listen to the patients
reason for the visit to the doctor as well as
understand body parts
- The children will strengthen fine motor skills as
they dress up as the doctor (button the vest)
- The children will explore cognition in pretend
play as they act out simple themes such as
caring for one another

Implementation
1. I will place the box with the materials in the
dramatic center
2. I will ask the toddlers who would like to be the
doctor
3. Using toy dolls as patients will always be an
option
4. I will act like a patient, I will fake sneeze by
saying ah choo just like boots did in the book
5. I will allow children to direct the activity and be
there to make sure every child is getting a turn
