PWBA Accepting Memberships
ARLINGTON, Texas The Professional Womens Bowling Association
is accepting memberships for the 2017 season and entries for the first
four events in 2017.
Women who have achieved an average of 180 or higher in a United
States Bowling Congress certified league can apply for PWBA mem-
bership. International bowlers may join if they average 180 or higher
and provide proof from their countrys bowling federation.
Bowlers can apply online at PWBA.com. Applicants will be notified
of membership status within 30 days of submitting an application.
The benefits of PWBA membership include:

Discounted practice rates at official PWBA Practice Centers

Spots Available for USA Bowling Championships
ARLINGTON, Texas Half the field for the 2017 USA
Bowling National Championships presented by the
Sixlets Brand are set, but the final 16 spots for the July
event in Cleveland will be decided over the next two
months.
USA Bowling Regional events determine the field for the
USA Bowling National Championships. At each regional,
there are two divisions Under 12 (born Aug. 1, 2004 or
later) and Under 15 (born between Aug.1, 2001 to July 31,
2004) and each regional champion advances to the nation-
al event.
The regional events kicked off last October with the
Southeast Regional held at Buffaloe Lanes North in
Raleigh, N.C. Since then, regional events have taken place
in Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas, Indiana, New York, Tennessee,
Texas, Florida and California.
Five USA Bowling Regional events remain, so there still is
time to register a team for competition. The dates, region

Among the teams that already have qualified for the 2017
USA Bowling National Championships is 3 Rights Make a

Championship title, will seek another title-match appear-
ance on CBS Sports Network after leading the U12 Georgia
All Stars to the Atlantic East U12 title in December.
For USA Bowling Regional events, rosters can have up to
six bowlers, though only four will compete at a time. Each
member of the team must be USBC certified to participate.
The two-day regionals start with eight round-robin Baker
matches to determine seeding for tiered brackets. On the
second day of competition, teams compete in a double-
elimination match play bracket, also using the Baker format
in which team members alternate frames. Each match is
best-of-three games and competition continues until each
tiered bracket has a winner.
The cost for teams to compete in the event is $110 and all
participants receive an event gift with trophies awarded to
the top teams.

triple deuces for the players. Matthew Russell, with the afternoons
finest threesome, posted 234-229-201: 664 and with support from Chris
Torres 214: 601 and Joseph Mahoney 223, led Montvale to a dominant
27-5 triumph over Bowler City I. Pacing the BC I quartet was Gabriella
Pangaro 222-214: 613 and Kyle Schellberg with a 204.
Johnny Toscano was the other player with a triple deuce, firing 232-
203-201: 636 and together with Brandon Smiths 268: 654, Joey Ardiris
245 opener, and Nick Spartas closing 220, the Hi-Tor I powerhouse
thundered past T-Bowl, 28-4, opening up a nine and one-half point lead
over second place Holiday II. Short-handed T-Bowl managed one deuce,
that a 212 by Dylan Heinold. As for Holiday II, they had their hands full
with Hi-Tor II, but came away with a hard-earned 20-12 [2833-2802]
win. Scorching the pin decks for the victors were Esteban Garcia 223-
