SUMARRY, FINDING, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

A study of vegetation of Lake Holon was conducted in Brgy. SalacafeTboli South

Cotabato, which aimed to assess the Trees and Shrubs at Lake Holon. Specifically, the

study aimed to determine the species composition of Lake holon.

Station 1 was located at the right side of the bang house, Station 2 was located

at the trail of kotongbusaw and Station 3 was located at the top of kutongbusaw, Lake

Holon T;boli South Cotabato. The study was conducted July 2014 at Lake Holon Brgy.

SalacafeTboli South Cotabato. The trees and shrubs collected were identified by using

references and the help of experts.

Findings

The results of the study revealed that there nine(8) family of trees and One

Hundred (100) individuals species , thedipterocarpoideae, namely: Shorea, Moracae,

namely: FicusBengalensis, Moraceae, namely: Ficusreligiosa,Artocarpusheterophyllus,

Annonacea, namely: Annona reticula, Sapotaceae, namely: Palaquiumluzoniense,

Apocynaceae, namely: Alstoniamacrophylla, Alstoniascholaris, Anacardiaceae, namely:

guava, Moraceae, namely: Tibig, Rutaceae, namely: Citrus maxima, Melastomataceae,

namely: Medinillamagnifica, Verbenacea, Premmaserratifolia.

For trees Shoreanegrosensisgot the highest density (0.0014), relative density

(0.0866), frequency (1.000), relative frequency (0.143) and dominance (0.066).

Mangiferaindica got the lowest density (0.00006), relative density (0.0033), frequency

( 0.333), relative frequency (0.048) and dominance (0.000) respectively.

For the shrubs Piper aduncum L. got the highest density (0.00100), relative

density (0.48544), frequency (1.00), relative frequency (0.230947) and dominace

(0.23611). Lantana camaragot the lowest density (0.00006),relative density (0.02697),

frequency (0.33), relative frequency (0.076982) and dominance (0.00000) respectively .

Conclusion

Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the species of trees found

in the Lake Holon belongs to nine (9) family and one hundred (100) individuals species

of the dipterocarpoideae, Moracae, Moraceae, Annonacea, Sapotaceae, Piperraceae,

Apocynaceae, Anacardiaceae. For trees Shoreanegrosensisgot the highest density

(0.0014), relative density (0.0866), frequency (1.000), relative frequency (0.143) and

dominance (0.066).

Nine (9) families and thirty seven (37) of shrubs the Verbenaceae, clusiaceae,

Fabaceae, Nilotica, rubiaceae, Mrytaceae, Moraceae, Rutaceae, Melastomataceae,

Verbenacea. For the shrubs Piper aduncum L. got the highest density (0.00100),

relative density (0.48544), frequency (1.00), relative frequency (0.230947) and

dominace (0.23611).

Recommendation

Based on the results of the study the following are recommendation;

1. Disseminate the results of the resident near the area and the local officials for

further plans and programs of rehabilitation and conservation of the trees and

shrubs through formulation of ordinance on human activities that may affect the

trees and shrubs.

2. It also recommended avoiding cutting trees and shrubs in the area of the Lake

Holon to prevent soil erosion that in term can cause depletion of plants present in

the study area.

3. Preserve the habitat to preserve the species in the area.
