Description of how to implement in the class:
Students will be doing a supplemental worksheet. The worksheet will be designed in Microsoft Word
and called, Cell Structures. The purpose of the worksheet is for students to comprehend and learn
the functions of certain cell structures (nucleus, cell wall, cytoplasm, etc) within the animal and plant
cells. To achieve the above standard, they are to label the animal and/or plant cell, match the
functions to the correct structure, and answer multiple choice questions on why the functions exist.
These tasks will be done individually and then reviewed in a whole group setting.

The students will first learn the cell structures and their functions through watching a Brain Pop
video. Following the video, there will be games and other activities to be played assist in the
introductory phase of the lesson. Next, the students will obtain the worksheet and begin to answer
the questions, label the cell structures, and match the terms with their functions. During this time,
students receive the chance to ask questions they possess on misunderstandings. The final step will
be completing the post assessment on Brain Pop.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): LoTi levels 2 and 3 best describe this worksheet. The
reasoning is due to the fact students shall be testing their knowledge of comprehension on cell
functions and remembering locations of cell structures. They shall also be comparing the different
types of cells (animal and plant) which requires a higher order thinking.
Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided *: The Cell Structures
worksheet serves as a supplemental lesson activity for students. There will be between 10-20
questions (labeling, matching, and multiple choice) broken off into sections. The first section will be
the Labeling of cell structures, the second consists of matching terms and functions, and the third will
be multiple choice questions.
Other comments about your proposed spreadsheet/graph/chart activity: Enjoy!
