2 Exercises 8 min - 20 min The Chakras

Seventy-two nerve endings are in the anus, and that is the First Chakra, which we are talking about. We are going to
arouse the energy, through the spinal column, to change the serum and aect the gray matter in the brain and the
patterns of the neurons. I am giving you now the practical side of it, I have given you the theory, which is 5,000 years
old. This is authentic, it is real. Now, question is, have you understood the theory? Are going to sit down and do it?
Yogi Bhajan cautions practitioners to not engage in sexual activity after this kriya or the eect is lost.

1. Warm Up
Warm Up (5 min)
1. Sit with a straight spine.
2. Bring your hands slightly wider than your chest, palms facing
each other.
3. Slowly bring the hands together as you contract the anal
sphincter.
4. Isolate the anal sphincter from the rest of the Mool Bandh (Root
Lock) and only activate the First Chakra.

2. First Chakra Kriya


Comments: Start with 3 minutes for beginners; extend the exercise to 11-15 minutes with practice.

First Chakra Kriya (3 min to 15 min)


1. Sit with a straight spine, chin in, chest out.
2. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose.
3. Chant Humee Hum Brahm Hum. Translation: "We are We, We
are God."
4. Use Nirinjan Kaur's Humee Hum track available on Musical
Armations Volume 2.
5. Chant with the tongue withdrawn. The tongue is pulled back so
that it touches the middle of the upper palate during the chant.
6. Hands are slightly wider than the chest at a 45-degree angle
toward the earth.
7. Elbows are raised; the ngers are together and the thumbs point
up.
8. The hands move together, in two downward strokes, toward
each other at the solar plexus. They do not touch. They come
down a few inches on Humee Hum and down a few more inches
toward each other on Brahm Hum; and then return to the
original position.
9. The anus is squeezed on each pulse of the hands. Do not
squeeze the second or third chakrajust the anal sphincter.
