EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR PROVISION OF A LIBRARY

BOOK DETECTION SECURITY SYSTEM (FIRM SELECTION)

1. Coast institute Of Technology is a Technical And Vocational Education and

training(TVET) of choice at your door steps to provide you with globally competitive and
market driven (TVET)academic programs based on existing approved curriculum
designed for the attainment of vision 2030 and beyond to school leavers in Kenya. We
have population of about 1000 students and 160 staff.

The institute intends to monitor books within the library by use of Book detection system
and strip to provide reliable security for all library materials.The solution of the system
include Administration and statistical reporting tools giving library the ability to control
hardware and software operation with local and remote reporting capabilities.

The overall objective of the assignment is to totally secure the books

2. Interested company should meet the following requirements.

i. Copy of business registration Certificate/Certificate of incorporation.

ii. Copy of valid tax compliance certificate

iii. Detailed company profile.

iv. State evidence of past experience in providing services of similar nature and
value.

v. Give outline proposal and operational model of the system.

vi. Copies of the highest academic and professional qualification of staff proposed
for the assignment.

Following the expression of interest, institute will issue request for proposal (RFP) to
the short listed firms/consulting firms/companies, and will be selected in accordance
with the evidence of the above requirement.

3. The Completed expression of interest and accompanying documents properly bound

and paginated shall be submitted in plain sealed envelopes(in original and copy all
 clearly marked with the tender reference number and title, may be sent by post
addressed to:

Or be delivered and placed in the tender box situated outside the Administration Block,
Coast Institute of Technology so as to be received on or before Thursday 26th January, 2017
at 10.00 am. East African Time. The expression of interest will be opened immediately
thereafter at Coast Institute of Technology Board Room, in the presence of bidders or their
representatives who wish to be present.

E.O.I can be downloaded from the Coast Institute of Technology website www.cit.ac.ke or
IFMIS supplier portal: supplier.treasury.go.ke/tenders free of charge. Applicants who
download expression of interest documents shall email their names, contact details and
tender number to procurement@cit.ac.ke
