SCENE 1
INT. CELLAR - DAY.
CU - CAMERA LOOKS AROUND PINBOARD AT ROBOT DESIGNS,
NEWSPAPER ARTICLES AND PICTURES.
FS - CERTFICATES - TRACKING
The Mother is hard at work on her current robot project, the
camera watches from behind.
LONG SHOT - MOTHER - ZOOM OUT OF ROOM

INT. PASSAGE/STAIRS - CONTINUOUS

ZOOM OUT AWAY FROM DOOR WITH 'DO NOT DISTURB SIGN'.
LONG SHOT
Daughter at bottom of the stairs looks at the sign angrily.
MEDIUM SHOT
She then goes up a couple steps and sits.
POV - DAUGHTER
Takes hidden Diary from behind the plant and begins to
write.
*02/09/2016*
CUT TO: MOTHER IN
CELLAR
INT. CELLAR
MEDIUM SHOT - MOTHER WORKING
DAUGHTER
*spoken from passage* I'm going
out! Not that you care...
MOTHER
*paying no attention* Ok, have fun.
EASE IN - CLOCK TICKING BEHIND MOTHER
FADE TO BLACK.
SCENE 2

INT. PASSAGE/STAIRS - MORNING

FS - DOOR
*Knock knock*
*footsteps as mother approaches the door*
MCU - MOTHER

*steps back* Facial expression: deep in thought.

POLICE
There's no easy way of telling you
this but we found your daughter at
the park down by the lake this
morning, she was exploring when she
fell in...

*Mother zones out of conversation*

*Moments later*
Mother wanders aimlessly in disbelief back down to the
cellar.
FADE TO BLACK.

SCENE 3 - 11 MONTHS LATER.

INT. CELLAR - 11 MONTHS 02/08/2017.
The Mother is hard at work on her current robot project, the
camera watches from behind.
MEDIUM SHOT - CALENDAR
DUTCH ANGLE - MOTHER WORKING.
50% opacity of calendar (CU) days getting crossed out over a
period of a month, calendar rises and drops opacity between
weeks. The mother behind calendar persistent, growing
impatient, frustrated etc... Calendar high opacity, now on
02/09/2016, Calendar drops to 0% opacity.
MOTHER
One last try...
BCU - PLUGS IN ROBOT
ECU - ROBOT'S EYES OPENING/LIGHTING UP
FULL PROFILE SHOT - ROBOT MOVES ALL BODY PARTS TRYING IT OUT

BEFORE SHE SITS UP COMING FULLY TO LIFE.

MCU - MOTHER - WATCHING HOPEFULLY
EASE IN - MCU - ROBOT
MCU - MOTHER THINKING
MOTHER
You're missing something... *looks
around then at the door* ... Wait
here.
POV - ROBOT - CREEP IN - MOTHER LEAVES CELLAR.
CUT TO:
PASSAGE/STAIRS
INT. PASSAGE/STAIRS
HIGH ANGLE - MOTHER WALKS DOWNSTAIRS WITH FOLDED CLOTHES IN
ARMS.
POV - MOTHER
Mother notices the diary hiding behind the plant, the mother
picks it up, studying it for a moment and puts it on top of
the folded clothes in her arms...
CUT TO: CELLAR
INT. CELLAR - MOMENTS LATER
POV - ROBOT - STRAIGHT ON SHOT.

Mother enters cellar and places the clothes and diary next
to the robot, moving the diary to the side.
MOTHER
*Begins to put clothes on the
robot*
ROBOT
*Stares at the mother.* *boops and
beeps*
MOTHER
*Looks from robot, to the diary and
hesitantly picks it up to read...*
*Looks at robot*
Mother scanning diary pages, makes a few clicks on the
computer and reboots robot in its sitting position.

CLOSE UP ON POWER BAR. DRAINS THEN REFILLS.

FS - ROBOT
ROBOT
*gets up off table* ... *boop beeps
crackles voice* ... I wanna go
somewhere.
CU - MOTHER SMILING

SCENE 4 - PARK SCENE

EXT. PARK LAKE - EVENING.
FADE IN: LONG SHOT
OF MOTHER AND ROBOT.

Mother and robot walking down the path when the robot spots
the mini dock, the robot goes to the edge.
DIRTY SHOT/OVER THE SHOULDER - FOCUS ON ROBOT.
Robot on the edge of lake.
MOTHER
What are you doing?! Get away from
there!
MCU - MOTHER
Mother hesitates going near robot in case it jumps in.
FS - ROBOT
ROBOT
*stern* *turns head downward to
side* Everyone has turned their
backs on me. *looks up straight
ahead* Now its my turn.
MEDIUM SHOT - MOTHER
MOTHER
Wait!
LONG SHOT - ROBOT FALLS IN
HIGH ANGLE - ROBOT SINKS
MOTHER
*whispers as robot as sinking* I've
