1. How do I apply for a job vacancy? 
Response: After you have reviewed the job vacancy and specification, you can log in to the ADB Recruitment 
Centre (ARC) where you can apply for the job. If you have not yet registered, go to the Register Today button. You 
will be asked for an email address, password, and other details. 
 

2. I  want  to  apply  for  a  local  staff  country  office  vacancy.  Do  I  apply  for  these 
type of vacancies by using ARC? 
 
Response: Applications for local staff country office vacancies are to be made to the nominated email address, and 
involve the filling up of the application form linked to the job description. At this time, these type of vacancies are 
not a part of ARC. 
 

3. How do I view the vacancy postings? 
Response: Go to employment opportunities for the full list of ADB job vacancies. 

4. How do I register? 
Response: Before you are able to apply for a job with ADB you must register and complete the registration form. 
Log in at ADB Recruitment Centre (ARC). After you have entered ARC you will be asked to create an account. This 
involves providing personal information, education and qualifications, job history, countries of work experience, 
publications, languages, and information technology skills. An ARC generated curriculum vitae will result, but you 
may also attach your own curriculum vitae/resume and other documents to your account. 

5. How long does it take to complete the registration form? Do I need to input all 
information at one time? 
Response: You should schedule about one hour to complete the registration form. The time needed all depends on 
the extent of information you need to input, for example your job history. You do not need to input the 
information all at once as long as you save each screen as you complete it. 

6. Can I update “My Account” information? 
Response: You can update your account information at any time. Just go to ARC. 

7. How long will “My Account” remain active? Does it have an expiration date? 
Response: Yes, there is a 1 year expiration date from when you last login to ARC.

8. After I submit my application, is it possible to edit it? 
Response: Yes, you can edit your application/profile after you submit it in response to a job posting until the 
closing date of the posting. 

9. Is there a restriction on the file size of my uploaded curriculum vitae/résumé? 
Response: Yes. All uploaded files have a size limit of 500 KB each. 

10. How do I check the status of my application? 
Response: On submitting an application you will be sent an ARC email notification. You may login to ARC and check 
the status of an application until the position is filled. 

11. Can I still apply for vacancies that have closed? 
Response: No, this is not possible as closed vacancies are removed from ARC. 

12. Will my application be automatically considered for vacancies that require the 
skills and competencies that I possess, or will I have to apply to be considered? 
Response: No. Once you register with ARC and create a profile, your profile with be reviewed by the human 
resources division and may be put forward for consideration for future vacancies. It is your obligation to apply for 
actual vacancies, if you want to be considered for them. 

13. How will my application be processed? 
Response: Applications submitted to a vacancy are screened by the human resources division and a short list of 
both external and internal candidates is prepared for review by the vacancy selection panel. The human resources 
division, or the Department who holds the vacancy will make contact with you if you are invited for interview. 

14. Will I be notified if there is a vacancy for the positions I have specified? 
Response: It is not possible for the human resources division to notify you of any vacancies in areas you may be 
interested in. All vacancies are listed on www.adb.org. 

15. How will I know the status of my application to a vacancy? 
Response: There is a feature in ARC that enables you to see the status of your application to a particular vacancy.
