B. Concurrent Requirements
Service Bulletin A320 004-25-85 (now covered in EASA AD 2016-0043,
which has superseded EASA AD 2011-0160, and FAA AD 2012-23-10)
must be performed prior to incorporating the modifications included herein.
C. Reason
The modification herein describes the bonding of a wrapper to the existing
slide/raft assembly. The addition of the wrapper improves system
deployment, more specifically the pack drop, and significantly reduces the
risk of evacuation system components becoming snagged on aircraft door
components during deployment. A new slide/raft inflatable subassembly
with the wrapper already incorporated may be installed into these
evacuation systems, in lieu of modification of the existing subassembly.

NOTE: Only those organizations authorized by the FAA or other

airworthiness authorities are permitted to perform this modification.

Bond new wrapper to slide/raft assembly and reidentify slide/raft assembly

part number, or install new slide/raft assembly. Reidentify evacuation
system part number. Repack system per updated Folding Procedure.
Return to service.
E. Compliance
This Service Bulletin has been rendered mandatory by EASA AD 2016-
0043.
F. Approval
TSO-C69a Systems
(1). FAA Approval - This Service Bulletin contains modification informa-
tion which has been submitted to the FAA as a minor change to the
TSO-C69a authorization for the affected articles.
(2). DGAC Approval - This service bulletin is approved by the DGAC
(applicable to equipment manufactured by Aerazur). This bulletin is
the implementation document for the approved technical data in
accordance with regulation CE1702/2003 Part 21.
(3). Airbus Approval - The technical content of this document is
approved under the authority of DOA ref. EASA.21J.031.

It will take approximately 0.25 hour to accomplish the subassembly
modification instructions outlined in this Service Bulletin, not including cure
durations.

application of this Service Bulletin, be installed on the aircraft type unless its
aircraft SB is approved.
L. Other Publications Affected
Zodiac Aero Evacuation Systems Component Maintenance Manual (CMM)
25-61-20 and Folding Procedures P-11915 and P-11921 will require a
revision as a result of this Service Bulletin.
P-11915 Rev. AG (and subsequent revisions) and P-11921 Rev. AG (and
subsequent revisions) will include the updated instructions for folding
slide/raft evacuation systems with the new wrapper.

E. Special Tooling Necessary - Price and Availability
No special tooling or equipment is necessary to perform the modification in
this Service Bulletin.
F. Special Tooling Necessary to Perform this Service Bulletin
Tools and materials included within the Repair section of Zodiac Aero
Evacuation Systems CMM 25-61-20 may be necessary. Ensure all
necessary items are available prior to commencing work.

3. Accomplishment Instructions

NOTE: System is considered unpacked as part of regularly scheduled

maintenance.

NOTE: Modification shall be performed on the underside of the slide/raft

assembly. It will be easier and safer to accomplish the instructions
with the unit inflated and upside-down.

NOTE: If slide/raft assembly is being replaced, skip to Paragraph 3.J.

A. Inflate slide/raft to 2.0 psig (1.4 N/cm2). Turn slide/raft over (underside facing
up).

CAUTION: TO AVOID DAMAGE TO INFLATABLE SEAMS, USE ONLY A

MINIMAL AMOUNT OF SOLVENT IN SEAM AREAS.

B. Carefully clean areas of tension web near each restraint patch (reference
Figure 1) using Ethyl Acetate Solvent.
C. Place new wrapper (70178-101) at location on tension web specified in Fig-
ure 1 and outline the bonding locations using a dull, soft leaded pencil.
D. Prepare marked area on inflatable and yellow portions of the wrapper fol-
lowing instructions in the Repair section of CMM 25-61-20.

NOTE: Hook Velcro sections on each side of the wrapper will be facing
upward when installed correctly (reference Figure 1).

E. Bond wrapper to marked locations on tension web following cementing

instructions in Repair section of CMM 25-61-20.
F. Allow the cement to cure for a minimum of four hours.

G. Apply reflective coating compound to the cemented areas per instructions
in the Repair section of Zodiac Aero Evacuation Systems CMM 25-61-20.
Allow reflective coating compound to air dry for 16 hours.
H. Dust with powdered soapstone before deflating.
I. Reidentify slide/raft assembly (reference Table 1) located on girt placard,
using in (6.4 mm) minimum high characters in indelible ink.
J. Reidentify evacuation system (reference Table 2) located on upper lacing
cover placard, using in (6.4 mm) minimum high characters in indelible ink.
K. Proceed with regularly scheduled maintenance.
L. Re-pack system per Folding Procedure P-11915 Rev. AG (or subsequent
revision) for D30665-Series (Aft) systems, or P-11921 Rev. AG (or subse-
quent revision) for D30664-Series (Fwd) systems. Side wrappers will be
installed during these procedures.
M. Return system to service.
