Hi!

today im going to talk about sports:i have chosen this theme to


show you that sports can really improve not only our physical health
but also make our mental stronger to face the daily life problems.
This has been happening to me and now i want to demonstrate that
it can happen to you too!

So,the importance of sports:Sports,known as an activity involving


physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes
against another ,has a major importance in our lives.

Praticing sports is a source of recreation because it provides you


relief and a sense relaxation in a life of monotony routine maked by
miseries, hardships, hurdles and stress.

Although, sports are also very important for healthy socializing,


academic success and to build character values and those are
some of the benefits we always forget to talk about.

In what has to be with healthy socializing its proved that when you
pratice a sport it can help develop friendships, safe and enjoyable
activitivies and you are less likely to use drugs and smoke.

Otherwise, playing a sport contibuites to academic success in a


way that some studies say that this people tend to perform better at
school.This has to be with the importance of sports in life of young
students which goes much further than the basic answer that it
keeps kids off the streets because sports dont only keep kids of
the streets but also sets lessons that are essential in the life of a
student athelete.

So, at last, sports also play the important role os imparting


character values such as honesty,teamwork and fairplay.
Experiencing the role of graceful winner or loser teaches people
about being humble and competitive.I n general, can teache
individuals about self-respect, confindence and managing stress.

Basically, sports are an essential piece in the life of a child,


teenager, adult or senior person. But its much more than that
,because it improves the lives of a specific part of society that is
most of the times pulled back from all kind of activities .In this case i
m refering to the people with some kind of physical incapacity
because for them sports can really make a difference in the way
they accept who they are and everything they can do including
being sucessful and doing what they love.

Now,Im going to talk a little about the sport that i practice. I practice
swimming and thats probably not the kind of sport that i like the
most but i do it because of a health problem. Ive been practicing
swimming for a month and thats why im still learning some of the
techniques related to this sport and most important of all im still
learning how to like this sport that so many people say it is the best
for health.

Some of the amazing physical benefits of swimming are :improving


the strengh of your muscles, making your heart more capable of
pumping blood efficiently or for example reducing your cholesterol.
In a mental way ,it is known for decreasing stress while you are in
the water and for being a major help to solve some cases of
depression. Any person independent of his/her sex, age or job can
practice swimming once the water is benefic in different ways to our
body and has no agressive effects for us.

In competitive swimming ,four major styles,have been estabilished


and they are:butterfly,backstroke,breastoke and freestyle.Im not
going to talk about them because i prefer to talk about a person that
practices the styles of butterfly,freestyle,backstroke,individual
medley(that is the combination of the four styles) and is known all
around the world for being so good!That person is Michael Fred
Phelps,an american competition swimmer ant the most decorated
olympian of all time and he says what i think it is most important of
all:If you want to be the best you have to do things that other
peoples arent willing to do

So,after all of this i hope ive shown you that sports are essential in
our lives not only to our physical health but also to our mental
health, but even if it had only serious physical benefits and not the
mental ones it should be worth it for us to practice it anyway
because its our body and we need to have a nice healthy body to
help us live longer.
