Slopes and y-intercept investigation

Graph the following lines:

y=2 x+3

1
y= x +3
2

y=x+ 3

y=3 x4

1
y=2 x
2

2 2
y= x+
3 3

After graphing the lines, answer the following questions:

1. What are the y-intercept of these lines?
ANS: green/red/blue(3) ,purple(-4),black (0.66),orange(-0.5).
2. What are the slopes of these lines?
1
ANS: y=2 x+ 3:2 , y= 2 x +3 :0.5 , y=x+ 3 : -1, y=3 x4 :3 ,

1
y=2 x : -2
2

2 2 2
, y= 3 x+ 3 : 3

3. What is the relationship between their slopes and orientations of the lines?
Any observable patterns?
ANS: if it have more slopes it will have more steeps too.

4. According to your observations, which part of the equation is the slope and
which part of it is the y-intercept?
ANS: y=mx+c , m will be the slopes and c will be y-intercept.
