The contractions, dont, cant, shouldnt, couldnt, isnt, havent and hasnt, it are only
use when we speak or we write informaly. In texts academics or formal texts are not use
contractions, we use: do not, cannot, should not, could not, would not, is not, have not
and has not, respectively. _____________________

THERE IS/THERE ARE

When we write it is better to avoid the use overuse of the there is and there are, because
its use does not allow express clear and concise ideas meaning we do not want these
long sentences to be to the point.____

REALLY, VERY, A LOT, SO

The use of these types words in our formal texts, weaken our writing. Therefore it is
better to avoid them.___

PASSIVE VOICE Vs ACTIVE VOICE

The use of the passive voice is normal when we write academics texts of exact sciences
but when we write academics texts of psychology, history and humanities social sciences
to these types of writing we do not use the passive voice, we use the active

STRONG VERBS

Finally, the strong verbs are used to write academically, example
