PLANT LAYOUT

3.1. Plant Location (Clarissa)

Our plant location is in Kaltim Industrial Estate (KIE), Bontang, East
Kalimantan. The specific location is shown in Figure 3.1 until 3.3. The selection
of suitable location of the plant will adversely impact the operating and capital
costs which should be calculated by investors to build a plant. It will directly
affect the economic value and feasibility of the plant. To choose the right location,
there are several factors to be considered, such as distance to raw material,
infrastructure, access to market, regulation imposed by the local government, and
labors. Based on the aspects aforementioned, we choose Kaltim Industrial Estate
in Bontang, East Kalimantan. The considerations are:
1. The distance between our plant to the raw material supplier (PT Kaltim
Methanol Industri) is 2.9 km and they are in the same industrial estate.
The distance between our plant and Badak NGL is 10.8 km and CH4 gas
will be supplied via CNG skid from natural gas plant in Bontang (Badak
NGL).
2. Kalimantan Industrial Estate (KIE) has good infrastructure. There are
national and provincial roads, and also some developments of land
transportation facilities which Samarinda Toll Road, and access road to
Container Terminal Port. The category of the road is II which have width
2.5 meter and maximum load is 8 tons. KIE near to Tanjung Laut harbour
(8.3 km). All IT, telecommunication, hospital and banking network, as
well as energy and utilities supply are ready to support the plant since it is
an industrial estate.
