Digital System; it has a system that is designed to produce zero (off) or one
(on) signals primarily to be able to talk or to use computers and other
processors directly.

Alarm; in terms of alarming, the writer explains the importance of setting your
alarms right to reduce or even to prevent the amount of work in your daily life.

Graphical User Interface; This is an approach that normally guides the operator
to visualize the system performances. Generally, Graphical User Interfaces can
be classified into three graphics such as Floor plan graphics, System graphics
and Room graphics.

Trends; This is the art of logging specific data points(Trends) and storing them
in a database so that they can be evaluated and reported later.

Sensor; This is a device whose purpose is to detect events in its environment

and sends the information to the computer which in turn tells the actuator to
provide the corresponding output. The writer mentions that the common types
of sensors that we would encounter are Resistive, Powered and Circuit or
Switch Sensors.

Actuator; This is a device or component of a machine that is used for moving or

controlling the system. Also, Actuators are divided into three types such as
on/Off, Floating, and Proportional.

Binary Control; This is one of the most control methods used in the BAS space,
it basically tells a device to turn on or off.
Proportional Control; This is the control mode that basically consisting of two
modes, namely proportional only and proportional- integral (PI) control.
