Module content
The Modern Language Centre offers a range of credit-bearing (assessed) modules for different skills levels, from ab
initio (complete beginner, Stage 1) to near-native (Stage 7).
Language stages: The stage of study for a language can be determined by previously acquired skills and a students
language learning needs. During enrolment, a language tutor will assess the students language skills in order to place
them on the appropriate module. Further information on the module content can be found on our website at:
http://www.kcl.ac.uk/artshums/depts/mlc/study/modules/descrip/which.aspx
Credit level: Typically, undergraduate students take level 4 modules in their first year, level 5 in their second year and
level 6 in their final year. Postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students can only enrol for level 7 modules.
Kings College London reviews these modules on a regular basis and the modules offered may therefore change. We
suggest that you consult our website for updates: www.kcl.ac.uk/mlc
Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available on each module.
