Article Writing

You are required to write an article for the monthly bulletin of Biological Science Society on
topics related to FHSB1214 Biology I. You may include flow charts, tables, figures, schematic
diagrams and photos to make your article interesting and easy to read.

Instructions to students:

1. Students are required to work on this assignment in a group of about four (4). The
grouping will be done in practical classes.

2. The objective of this assignment is to connect the knowledge you gain in classroom to
real-life issues.

Adhere to the following guidelines when editing your article:

Size: A4
Spacing between lines: 1.0
Paragraph: Justify
Font: Times New Roman, size 12

3. You are free to include the followings: flow charts, tables, figures, schematic diagrams
and photos in your article, as long as your article looks neat and easy to read. Make
your article appear interesting to catch the attention of your readers.

4. You are strongly encouraged to refer to the books, websites, scientific journal, etc
especially for schematic diagrams and photos. Please ensure proper citation.

5. All information in your article should be factual (non-fictional), accurate and educational.
Your article should serve the purpose of enhancing the knowledge of your readers.

6. Your article will be graded based on the following criteria:

Focus
Organization
Content
Grammar & writing mechanics
Format
Reference

7. Submit a hardcopy of your article to your practical lecturer, and pass the Microsoft
softcopy by emailing to kwgoh@utar.edu.my.

8. Submission dateline: 31 March 2017 (Friday week 11).
