Candidates currently in final year of their engineering
degree may also apply.
However, Candidates should be in a position to
produce their Degree/Final year marks sheets by 1st
June, 2017 or at the time of Interview, whichever is
earlier.
Note: Candidates who are in 3rd year and who are
likely to pass their final year in 2018 are not
eligible.
Candidates with qualifications obtained through
examinations conducted by professional societies like
AMIE, AMICE, AMIETE etc are not eligible to apply.
Only Departmental Candidates having AMIE
qualification may apply for this position
Candidates seeking age relaxation on account of full
time PG qualification in Engg. or Business
Management/Administration must be in a position to
submit their PG final mark sheet/certificate by 1st June,
2017 to be considered eligible.
We regret that for the post of Engineer Trainee-
Mechanical Engineering, candidates with Metallurgy
Engineering are not eligible.
Similarly candidates having engineering degree in
disciplines other than specified (or considered
equivalent) as given in this website are not eligible.
Engineering graduate in Production & Industrial
Engineering are eligible to apply against Mechanical
discipline in BHEL, provided the candidate takes
GATE-2017 exam in ME Code only.
Engg Graduates, belonging to General category, born
before 01-September-1989 are not eligible to apply.

Candidates below 18 years as on 01-September,
2016 are not eligible to apply.
GATE-2017 marks is the only valid marks for
consideration for ET 2017 recruitment in BHEL.
Score from GATE-2016 or prior to that will not be
considered.
If you so desire, you may apply as General Candidate
(if eligible for Gen category) giving your category as
"Gen". In such an event, your candidature will be
considered as "GEN" and no change in category shall
be allowed at a later date.

Candidates presently employed in Central/State Govt
departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies should apply
through proper channel or bring No Objection
Certificate (NOC) at the time of Interview, if
shortlisted for interview.

matter pertaining to GATE-2017 examination needs to
be dealt With GATE-2017 authorities only.

Using this Acknowledgement Number you may take
print out of the Acknowledgement Slip, as required.
Yes. It can be viewed but no changes in application
once submitted can be carried out.
The online application should be filled-in very carefully
taking into account all the instructions. It is to be
reviewed carefully before submission. Once the
application is finally submitted, no change in any field
will be permitted
(i) Checkout the latest central list of OBCs published
by the National Commission for Backward Classes
(NCBC).

For getting the benefit of reservation, the caste/ sub-
caste/ community essentially has to be in central list. If
the caste you belong to appears in a state list but not
in the centralist, you are not eligible for getting the
reservation benefits in BHEL ET recruitment.
(ii). Be very sure that you do not belong to creamy
layer. Your OBC certificate must have a clear mention
that you belong to no creamy Layer.
(iii). OBC certificate has to be as per proper format
prescribed by Govt.of India. In case your certificate is
more than one-year-old and not as per format, please
get a new one issued by a competent authority.

At the time of verification of the caste certificate at the
time of recruitment or at any stage after that, if it is
found out that the candidate has obtained reservation
benefits by submitting, false/incorrect certificate/
information, candidate will be terminated from the
service immediately.
 12 What should be the back ground colour of
the photograph and Signature?
13 In which format the scanned photograph,
signature should be given?
14 What should be the size of the scanned
photograph?
Background must be in white colour
The images of the photograph and signature should be
scanned in the .jpg or .jpeg format only.
Upload the image in a JPEG format and also on a
standard 3.5 cm 4.5 cm (Width x Height) size.
Maximum pixel resolution for JPEG: 480 640 (0.3
Mega pixel) (Ask your studio to reduce it to this
resolution if it is higher). Minimum pixel resolution for
JPEG: 240 320.File Size should not exceed above
500 Kilo Bytes.

15 What should be the size of the scanned Only JPEG image formats will be accepted. The
signature? maximum pixel resolution for the image is 160 560.
The minimum pixel resolution for the image is 80 280.
Photographs of the signatures taken using mobile
phone or in poor quality are not acceptable, and can
result in rejection of the application without any refund
of the fee. The Maximum File Size should not exceed
above 150 Kilo Bytes.
