Restorasi dokumen Word yang belum di-

save
Beberapa menit yang lalu, ketika adik ipar saya sedang
mengetik bahan skripsinya, listrik di rumah saya tiba-tiba
mati (akibat istri malam-malam menghidupkan hair dryer
1000 Watt). Duh..

Akhirnya dokumen yang adik saya ketik hilang tak berjejak

(karena dia rupanya lupa men-save dokumen itu). Biasanya
sini: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?
id=485167.
Kesimpulan tipsnya seperti ini:
Gunakan fungsi search (pada drive C: atau drive lain yang
merupakan tempat aplikasi Microsoft Word terinstal), dan
ketikkan:
*.tmp,~*.*,*.asd
Pastikan bahwa windows explorer sudah diset untuk
menampilkanhidden file. Kalau belum yakin, mari pastikan.
Pada toolbar windows explorer klik Tools > Folder
Options lalu pilih tab View. Pada bagianHidden files and
folders contreng (lebih tepatnya klik) Show hidden files
and folders.
Kembali ke pencarian, jika proses pencarian sudah selesai,
coba cari file dengan nama seperti:

AutoRecovery Save of Document1.asd

Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Word).
3. Untuk filetype gunakan Recover Text from Any File
(*.*).
4. Nah, bagaimana hasilnya? Pada kasus saya sih berhasil
tuh. Meskipun isi dokumen agak berantakan, tapi lumayan
tidak perlu mengetik ulang seluruh dokumen, hehe
Mudah-mudahan bisa membantu yang punya masalah
serupa. :p

Here's a Sponsored Link that claims it can help ...

I dunno ... but might be worth pursuing.

Good Luck!

Might want to look in the C:\Windows\Temp directory. It will probably
be a file with a tilde (~) character at the begining. If your
computer cleans out the temp directory whenever it reboots or shuts
down, then there may be nothing there.

good luck

I doubt I can help, but here's some help for next time:

If Word locks up or you cannot save due to some error, try closing all
other programs; see if you can at least copy the text to some other
file. DO NOT HIT CTRL+ALT+DELETE to end the task!! This abrupts any
autosave feature! Instead, try closing all the other programs, leaving
Word open, then hit the Power button to restart. This makes Word think
there was a crash, which IS the way to ensure that your file is saved.

Hit Start-Search for Files or folders, and type:

*.tmp,~*.*,*.asd

When searching for these files, you must be viewing "hidden and system
files" (see Windows Explorer: Tools-Folder options, View tab for these
settings) or you will not be able to see them.

If you find any, try renaming their file extension to DOC, then
double-click to open. If the time shown on the file convinces you that
it's your file, and if it is larger than a few KB (a blank Word doc is
about 19KB), and changing the extension doesn't work, then try
File-Open from Word, and change the Files of Type to "recover text
from any document".
If you shutdown with the power button and did NOT first end task on
Word, then when you opened Word again, it should have recovered your
file. I suspect you ended the task...?

Anyway...hope this helps.

PS: Quick way to your temp folder is Start--Run and type %temp% and
hit enter. That way, if IT people have changed its location from
C:\windows\temp, you'll still be taken to it, and this method works in
all Windows OS versions.

If it crashed it usually doesn't clean it. The file can also be a
funky version of the original in the same folder.

No you can not get it back. If it is unsaved then it was using ram
"volitale memory" which means if you quit a task or shut down a task
with out saving then it is gone.

Actually microsoft word and some other word processors creates a
little temp file that stays there until you close.

So for me its back to beginning.

If you open Word, then go to TOOLS | OPTIONS, you will find a tab
where you ca set file saving options. Amongst them will be a setting
to tell WORD where to save TEMP files. By default it is under
APPICATION DATA in your user settings. By looking at the default on
your system you can determine which folder to look in for auto-saved
files. Navigate to that directory with Windows explorer and sort your
right side screen by DATE MODIFIED/ACCESSED and look for one of the
strangely named temp files closest to the time/date of your crash.
DOuble click that file and it will come up in Word where you can save
it as you like.

Hope this helps

I guess that it may depend on whether or not you have set up the Word
Autorecovery option in Tools > Options > Save.

I see that I set mine for every 10 minutes and that the File Recovery
location is specified as C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Word
Certainly, after I've had a crash, I always have a Recovered File that I
can use.

Worth knowing for future reference.
